A new Friday, a new change of scenery. Tamsin had hoped for somewhere else that stocked booze, but thankfully, she'd had the foresight of getting a whole bunch of it from the Restaurant before they moved this morning

Sit down on the sand with your feet and enjoy your view of the water. Play volleyball, if that's more your style. Or go swimming. You can't go far, courtesy of that dome, but there's still plenty of room.

Guitar in hand, Jono staked out a spot on the beach that was sort of away to the side of whatever was going on in the water or by the grills. It wasn't that he was being antisocial, necessarily. It was just that he was far less likely to get sand kicked on him if he had some distance from any potential volleyball games.
Honest.
Anyway, he was quite content to just sit there and play whatever he felt like playing and leave all of the 'beach fun' to everybody else. If that meant he was mostly playing acoustic reinterpretations of early 90s grunge... well...
Look, he'd take requests. But he wasn't going to sing.

The music was unfamiliar, and perhaps not quite to her taste, but Lucille enjoyed that someone played an instrument rather than relying on recorded music.
"Good evening," she greeted Mr Starmore. "Please, don't let me interrupt." She looked around and found a spot nearby to sit down.

//Evening, Lucille,// Jono replied, giving a warm little nod and finishing his rendition of Layla before tilting his head in consideration and starting to play something a little (a lot) more sedate. //How're you tonight? Enjoying the party?//
Re: Hang Out On The Beachcrimson_sisterMay 27 2016, 13:50:29 UTC
Lucille wrapped her shawl tighter around herself. "It's a beautiful evening," she replied, dodging the question. She fell silent, listening to the song.

//Would've been quite the effort to haul out here,// Jono noted, faintly amused. //I suppose there are keyboard setups that might work for you, though. They're slightly different from piano or harpsichord, but they're definitely easier to carry around.//
Re: Hang Out On The BeachfurnacefaceMay 27 2016, 14:48:13 UTC
//If there was space enough for one of my roommates to have a drum kit, there should be plenty of room for a keyboard,// Jono confirmed. //There are ones that run on batteries, if you want to carry it around with you, and most of them can be plugged in. I have a few at the Groovy Tunes, if you ever want to stop by and give them a try.//
Because there really wasn't much money in just selling CDs, these days. Damn the mp3. Damn it.
Re: Hang Out On The BeachfurnacefaceMay 27 2016, 15:44:42 UTC
It would! And anyway, Jono wasn't actually aiming to make a sale, necessarily.
//You can feel free to stop by at any time to give them a test run,// he shared. //Or borrow them for things like this, if you want. You don't have to make a purchase, either. I know the decent ones aren't exactly inexpensive.//
Re: Hang Out On The BeachfurnacefaceMay 27 2016, 17:41:59 UTC
Jono gave his shoulders a shrug.
//If you'd rather not borrow, you can rent,// he said, easily. Not that he was picking up on that unease, per se, but he could tell when somebody was the sort of person to not trust anything that seemed too good to be true. //We have student rates, actually, but I thought I would make the offer first, since Hannibal is giving you lessons and all.//

It was okay, Lucille. He knew how that went.

Which made voluntarily going to a party a little strange, perhaps.

At least there didn't seem to be the equpiment for karaoke around.

She was quickly running out of money in Fandom. Coats, dresses, and now possibly musical instruments. It would make practicing easier though.
