Underneath and Then All Around Fandom, Tuesday

Tamsin
"So," Tamsin said flatly, staring at the geeky-ass control room spread out under the island, "You nerds sent my island into space."

She had said this at least once before, but it was worth mentioning again.

"How do we get it out of space?"

Bo
"And officially transferred to your ownership so you have to pay the property taxes?" Bo asked. "Or should we just concentrate on the space part for now?"

Zoe
"In our defense, the island sent itself into the air. We just... increased the elevation, for the greater good," Zoe said, trying not to smirk. "I'm sure the controls to send it back to sea level are here somewhere."

Tamsin
"Well, go find them and hit them," Tamsin said, waving her hands around for a second. "I'm not a space person. I don't know how any of this bleepy-bippity-beam-me-up bullshit works."

She squinted at Bo. "I didn't think you did, either."

Bo
"Hey, we all have our secrets." Bo gave her a look, though not an especially serious one, because coming from the same other side of the causeway as Bo and Kenzi seemed relatively harmless on the Things You Neglected To Mention scale. "I'm only a couple of centuries and a high school diploma away from getting my official internet certification in bleepy-bippity-beam-me-up bullshit."

Zoe
"I was raised around all kinds of bleepy-bippity, but Fandom's bullshit is its own category," Zoe said. She went over to the controls that had steered the island before, and gave them a gentle push, frowning when nothing happened. She pushed them a little harder and got an angry beeping noise for her troubles, until she let go. "Yeah, that's some bullshit."

Tamsin
"That doesn't sound great."

Tamsin walked over there, too, peering over to squint at the controls. "Or at least not like it's landing."

Bo
"Why don't bleepity-bullshit buttons ever come clearly labeled?" Bo complained, studying the options as well. "They should have Up, Down, Dispense Coffee, and Press Here In Case of Emergency, at a minimum."

Zoe
"I don't think I want to try again since it doesn't seem to like me. Unless one of these buttons will spit out some good drinks to deal with this mess," Zoe said.

Tamsin
"So basically whatever we do is a coin flip," Tamsin sighed. "Fine."

She reached out, picked a random button, and hit it really, really hard.

The island gave a shudder. A pen fell off the console. And there was a real sense of movement. "Huh. Lucky guess."

Bo
Bo frowned. "Says you. I have a lot of experience with getting lucky. And going down. This doesn't feel like either."

Zoe
"Bo's right, this doesn't feel like sinking," Zoe said. She hit another button, and that only made the alarm sound go off again. "Oh come on!"

Tamsin
"There's got to be some button on this thing that does something use--"

That was about as far as Tamsin got.

There was a big, bright flash.

There was a small, all-encompassing darkness.

Then the lights came back on. "... I guess that did something? What did we do?"

Bo
"I guess we should go up and find out." Bo eyed the person who'd actually pressed the button. "...You first."

Meanwhile, up above...

The island jerked away from its orbit around Earth, pausing comically in the middle of space for several long, uninterrupted seconds. Then there was a flash. A big flash. It zapped right out of its old space, and reappeared somewhere else - in the center of an entirely different kind of grand expanse. It was a lake, sort of, but it barely resembled its usual anchoring point.

In fact, the substance itself couldn't even be called water: it was chocolate. A large expanse of chocolate, which washed up against the dome surrounding the island every now and again, splattering little brown flecks all over it. The top of the dome opened up, letting the fresh oxygen in, but the walls stayed up just far enough to stop the chocolate from running into the waters of the beach and docks.

The Causeway dropped down onto a cobblestone path. ... No, wait. Not cobblestone. Lemon drops. It was made of lemon drops. The surrounding green wasn't actually grass, either: it was apple-flavored marshmallow. The path led into a small village not far away. Large lollipops lined the entrance, while the skyline appeared to be comprised of a combination of chocolate bars, gummy bears and hard candy. A small brook made entirely of caramel flowed gently from the edge of town over into the licorice hills further away.
