After spending the morning unpacking and settling her stuff into her new room, Ringo had grabbed a quick lunch and rushed outside to do the most important thing of her day: an AT tour of the town.
Once she was outside, she'd swapped her sneakers for ATs, checked to make sure she had a bottle of water and one of her spare pairs of ATs, and headed out. Since this was her first real trip through town, she held herself back to a sedate pace, keeping herself down to the speed of a fast jog as she cruised the streets of Fandom. She even held back from her desire to grind every rail and wall-ride every open vertical surface, only using the occasional trick to get up and down stairs as she came upon them.
Actually, while she looked around, this was a good time to make a few calls and start making good on some of the promises she'd made at the picnic the day before. So she pulled out her phone and speed dialed home.
Ringo grinned at the sound of her sister's voice on the other end of the line. "Hey, Ume."
"No, no, everything's fine, you don't need to get Rika or anything. Actually, I was calling 'cause I wanted to ask you for a favor."
"Hey! No need to get like that. It's a normal favor, nothing weird."
"I ask for normal stuff all the time!"
She sighed. "Fine, fine, you're right. But that was only once. Well, maybe twice. Still, I am asking you a favor..."
Her exasperation disappeared and a grin blossomed. "Aww, yay! Well, okay, it's kind of a weird request, but... I need beginner parts for, like, twenty new ATs. And, um, boots in a bunch of different sizes."
"Well, obviously not for me. But, see, they don't have ATs here, and I showed mine to some people, and..."
Ringo's cheeks flushed. "Well, I think I'm allowed to sound excited! No one here knows what storm riders are, or about the Gram Scale Tournament or anything! They can all just ride, and have fun, and never worry about anything else, like we never got to."
"Really?" Ringo could feel her cheeks straining slightly from the way she was smiling. "Oh, thank you, Ume! Thank you! You're the best! I'll totally pay you back for this!"
"Okay, gotta go. I'm trying to find all the best places to ride around town."
"Yeah, I'll call again tonight and tell you how it went. Bye!"
Ringo shoved her phone back into her pocket, still grinning.
By the time Ringo found herself riding by the abandoned warehouse district, her cheeks actually had started to get sore from too much smiling. And as she her eyes swept across the area and she slowed to a stop, Ringo suspected that she wasn't going to stop any time too soon.
Because it was perfect.
Flat surfaces punctuated by loading docks and rails and it looked like there wasn't really any foot traffic, so there would be no need to hold back for fear of hitting a pedestrian...
Ringo was practically vibrating with excitement as she argued with herself in her head. She still hadn't gotten official permission to really go riding around the town, but it was right there, and no one seemed to be around, and what could it hurt?
She might be standing there, silently arguing with herself, for a while...
[ooc: Open if anyone wants to catch her either in town, or standing around in indecision near the warehouses...]
