Movie Sign Theater 3000, evening

Feb 15, 2006 00:51

Cameron led Vala up to the theater and turned to face her as they neared the closed doors. He turned to face her and cupped her cheek as he leaned in for a short kiss.

"Give me ten minutes to quickly set some last things up?" He'd done most things already, but it needed to be perfect. It was Vala's first Valentine after all.

Vala grinned. "O.K." She had no idea what to expect, but she hoped he hadn't spent too much on this.

Cameron smiled and stole another kiss before heading inside and turning the lights on in the theater. A little while later, he returned and opened the doors for Vala. He'd put a formal vest over his blue shirt and made a deep bow as he motioned for her to head inside. "My lady?"

Vala's eyes lit up. This looked like it was going to be fun. "Kind sir," she responded as she entered.

"Now I feel old," he snickered as he locked the door behind her and then moved beside her. He held out his arm for Vala to take.

A little while later, the music started up in the theater. Actually, some mice started talking and then singing.

Vala first looked startled, then started to snicker. "How did you...?" But she was already laughing too hard in delight to finish the question.

Cameron smirked as he joined her on the blanket again, he'd taken the opportunity to get the cider from the fridge.

"I pushed play," he said seriously and tilted his head as he watched her laugh. "You're so beautiful."

That stopped her giggles. "And you always know just what to say," she smiled, grabbing a chocolate-covered strawberry and feeding it to him.

"Just saying what I think," he eyed the strawberry and took hold of her wrist so she couldn't pull away as he made pretty sure to brush her fingers as he ate the strawberry in one go.

She leaned against him, sighing happily.

A frown crossed her face -- "I'm sorry I didn't get you a present" -- and then turned back into a smile. "But don't worry, I'll keep an eye out and in a few days you'll have something really exotic."

Cameron raised an eyebrow. "Really exotic? Like you?" He asked and he might be trying to slide her shirt up her side just a bit.

Her grin brightened. "Yeah, just like me. Brought from the stars especially for you."

"By intergalatic courier?" Cameron chuckled and slipped his hand in the opening to caress the skin underneath.

"Nah, I wouldn't trust something like this to a courier," she smiled, tracing his ear with one finger. "You're going to get something personally selected by one of the best experts in the galaxy, me."

He stared at her, not able to believe she had just said that. "I'll be earning it by protecting people, not by trying to scam them or rip them off." He shook his head. "I thought you understood that."

"Oh, yeah? Because your military is always on the side of right and good and pure, altruistic intentions?" Vala was up on her feet by now. "You'll just be doing what you're told to do like a good little soldier, and trust me, the people giving out the orders aren't all going to be saints."

"No, but they won't be pretending to be gods either." Cameron snapped back, instantly regretting the words.

Vala's face went cold. "Yeah, because that's what I just up and decided one day would be fun as a hobby. Killing people for fun and profit. And clearly I haven't changed at all."

She took a deep breath. "Turns out your dad was right, apparently I am a bad influence on you, Cameron."

He was on his feet, wanting to apologise but the remark about his father threw him. "My dad has nothing to do with this!"
