The Park, Saturday Evening -- [Snow White]

Dec 18, 2010 13:42

By early afternoon, there were signs up around town that stated:

SNOW WHITE WILL BE PERFORMED IN THE PARK AT SEVEN P.M. TONIGHT

Do not eat my theatre. I will find you and destroy you should the attempt be made.

It was amazing, truly, what could be accomplished in a number of hours when you had both money and the ability to contact hordes of NPCs people who were all willing to leap for the chance to work for overtime.

Which meant that, in relatively short order, there was a rather sturdy but entirely not permanent, stage in the park and Genesis was surveying it critically. He’d surely hear from Miss Donovan about the electrical capabilities-which were rudimentary, bur present, though he suspected getting the correct lighting would be more difficult, but he rather thought that Kūkaku would be pleased (or possibly annoyed at him for the short notice) as he’d left a note on the supplies she use, that had been transported, by himself even (he was not going to expect his minions, even hired minions, to carry things that were meant to explode) .

The note was quite simple:

Due to the change in venue, your constraints are lifted. No maiming the audience or students-otherwise, do what you wish.

Seats had been arranged for, set out in neat, painstaking rows (not as comfortable as The Boards’ lush seating, but as lawn chairs went-quite comfortable), with a blanket draped over each seat to keep the person sitting there warm, and he’d arranged with The Perk for a booth to be there for hot chocolate, coffee, and pastries: all free of charge.

(Well, he was paying for it, but his audience would not be.)

Genesis had felt that was a fair price to pay for the inconvenience of the change of location. He checked his list once more-yes, he’d handwavily contacted his actors, actresses, and crew and told them of the change of venue, seating, lighting, sound, props…

He’d done what he could, truly, but that did not change the fact that this performance was happening outside, in December, and that was… less than optimal.

Nonetheless. The show would continue as planned and if Genesis was a little crankier than normal…

His minions could deal with that.

[Wait for the OCD is up, up and away!]
