The dolphins still leapt toward the moon from the wall, the streamers still sparkled, but the ice sculptures were drippier and the punch had probably been ... enriched by now.

Homecoming continued. And, in just a moment, the Homecoming Court would be announced.

Now, Alex had forgotten he'd even been nominated. Hearing his name announced as being the winner was something else. He was going to act like he'd known it would happen all along, though.

That was the benefit of a big damn ego. And see, he wouldn't even mind dancing for this.

Percy had wandered out of the dark corners due to the food being too much to resist. It meant that he might run into Luke but he thought he was prepared for that.

It wasn't that awkward. It was just...really, really awkward. Percy made a face and busied himself with getting food.

Luke hadn't realized that Percy left his dark corner (yes, Luke saw him) until he was standing right next to him. He had kinda hoped it'd be Jason just for the sake of avoiding this conversation but, nope, Luke could see the gray in Percy's hair.

He knew walking away would just make things worse, so after a moment Luke decided to man up and speak. "Um, hey."

Yes, he was very eloquent.

Percy did not jump, thankfully. Luke's voice surprised him but he didn't jump. He glanced over at Luke (and his nice suit) quickly before looking back at the food.

"Oh. Hey, man," he said oh so smoothly. "How's it going?"

After the Homecoming court announcements, Alex had wandered back into the dark corners to drink his water and relax. He was pretty damn pleased with this night, yes.
