The Boards -- CASTING -- Sunday

Sep 26, 2010 10:57

Given the... diversity... of the auditions he had received on Wednesday, Genesis was in a fine mood as he picked idly through his scripts today. He smirked a bit, wondering at what reactions they would get upon seeing his chosen script for the play. Everything, of course, was already set up.

The people of Fandom were certainly enthusiastic, even ( Read more... )

Jack meandered into the theater. "There is food and drink available?" he asked hopefully.

That part of the sign had stood out to him. Casting for a play...less so.

Genesis smoothly closed the script he'd been rereading and glanced at the man.

... And resisted the urge to sigh. What was he wearing?

"For those who wish to tryout for the play, yes," Genesis said smoothly. "Would you be interested in that?"

"It depends," Jack decided after a moment of thought. "Is it very good food and drink?"

Reno wasn't here to audition, no.

Hell, Reno wasn't even here to offer his skills in any aspect of the theater here, really. But there was a name that he'd heard on the radio, and it had damn near made him choke on his drink at the time when he'd realized that the name 'Genesis' was being mentioned in conjunction with the playhouse, and maybe there wasn't just some kind of freaky similarity going on, there.

And so he'd grabbed an apple from the food table, and was now idly tossing it back and forth from hand to hand, keeping an eye open to see if he could spot the director. So far as he could figure, if it was the same guy, he wouldn't be easy to miss.

The director had taken a momentary break from pacing on the stage to go up and inspect his lighting. The girl, Claudia, had not been impressed by it.

He didn't know enough about it to know why she was so dismissive of it but it was his property and so he'd been looking up a few things and trying to guess how it might have failed to be adequate in her eyes.

Nonetheless, a break couldn't last for long and soon enough he came back down, looking exactly how he was supposed to look and most likely not at all what his new--visitor--cared for.

"Turk." Both a greeting and a question and dismissal all in one work. Genesis was good at that.

It took Reno a fair amount of self-control to keep from answering that particular greeting with 'asshole.'

"SOLDIER." That seemed to say it just as well, at least. "Thought it might've been you I heard about on the radio, zoto."

He wasn't going to try to punch Genesis in the face. Not just yet. He wanted to get out of the building again in one piece, after all. And knowing that he was here didn't do him a hell of a lot of good without knowing why, and, more importantly, from what.

"What brings your type around these parts?"

I will be out for, like, two hours this afternoon, but otherwise around all day.

SP for any thread here is utterly awesome and I swear I will not drop your threads. Unless LJ eats my notifs again, in which case poke me to pick it up as it is not deliberate, I swear.
