And when not-so-wee puppies happened to see people casting what looked suspiciously like some kind of land-based Blizzaga, it was pretty much mandatory that they stop to stare for a few minutes.
"The only elemental spells I can cast are Fire and Blizzard," he shared, blinking at the ice from behind her.
... He didn't have anything else slotted into his sword for that sort of thing.

"And I've only been working with mine for a little while," he replied. "I mean, I've had them for a while, but my training back home has been mostly with my sword."
He was trying to change that, honest!
