Homecoming Carnival, The Park, All Day [Post #2]

In keeping with the Homecoming theme, this year's carnival had a harvest festival look to it - mainly because most of the decorations from the dance had been moved out to the park to join the tents, booths, and vendors as they'd gotten set up bright and early this morning. Well, yesterday had certainly been auspicious, confusing Arthur's mood to the point that it took him several hours more before he had his head in the game enough to check out what he'd bribed some people into doing to Katchoo the carnival.

He still wasn't as into it as he might have liked, but he did take a seat with a hotdog in hand. To commit himself to one of the games after making his round of the booths, or to flee like a fleeing thing head back home once he'd dunked Katchoo...

In the end, the latter won out embarrassingly quickly, and he made a quick stop by the target booth and hightailed it.

Ned figured he could wander through the carnival shortly but, for now, he was just riding the safest ride of all: a chair. He was happily worn out from the dance last night and chair riding seemed appropriate.

After an enjoyable morning sleeping in, Isabel made her way to the carnival to catch up with everyone she'd missed talking to at the dance last night.

She got a large coffee, found a seat at one of the tables with a good view, and settled in to watch people pass by.

Johnny decided to settle in by her, his own coffee in hand. "You are way too gorgeous to be sitting here alone. I'll be heartbroken if you tell me you have a significant other," he teased.

"Awww, then I'll have to lie and say I don't," Isabel grinned, delighted to see him. "Because you're way to handsome to die of a broken heart."

"Yes, yes I am," he preened in amusement before he leaned in, attempting to put his arm around her shoulders for a light squeeze.

Forget light squeeze, Isabel got to her feet for a full-out body hug. "And so modest too."

Laughing, he gladly wrapped both arms around her and held her close. "Yeah, girls seem to like that quality in me. Makes me look cute you know."

He kissed her cheek and gave her one last squeeze before grinning at her. "Can't complain too much other than I'm trying to wait patiently for Savannah to graduate. And I am so not as big a dork as Curly. He around today?"

"Just a few more months," Isabel reminded him. "Plus the holidays are coming soon enough. Will she come up and spend them with you? And yes, Wyatt is around here somewhere."

Johnny shrugged a shoulder. "We haven't discussed holidays yet but I'm hoping she will. I'd rather not have to share her with any of her family members since they're pretty much dicks. Save Eve and Sean." Okay, he shouldn't go there.

"I'll have to make an effort to say hello to him. Tell me how've you been?"

"Well I think Piper and everyone in L.A. is going to have Thanksgiving there. Maybe you guys can come there?" Isabel felt a bit weird inviting people to someone else's home. But Savannah and Johnny were practically family.

"I'm good. Busy with school and work. But good."
