Quite possibly, the play last night had convinced Lacey that she should consider acting as a hobby. Or a profession. No, wait, just a hobby.

This could not remotely bode well for anyone.

Even the kitchen staff looked apprehensive.

Cal decided he should probably get to mentioning the whole leaving thing to his boss.

"Hey, Lacey," he said, sliding up onto a stool and taking a moment to ponder on how this was how it looked from the other side of the counter. Whoa.

The specials on today's menu are a tip of the hat to the Lyric Cafe at the Hyperion Theatre, one of my favorite coffee shops, where I will happily while away large chunks of my weekends.
