Between the notebook where he was jotting things down and the two books he was flipping through, Cal didn't seem to have much of an attention span for actually working today.

Her exams done, Claire finally read the student newspaper. It was ... okay, not interesting in the normal sense. But interesting to her, anyhow.

"Hey," she greeted, taking her usual seat at the counter. "Church in Turkey, huh?"

Cal had stopped mouthing out the unfamiliar Turkish phrases when he saw Claire coming in, and then lowered the book a little when she had a seat, giving her a faint smile. "Yup. Church in Turkey. I figured now would be a good time, before I get like my dad and find out ways to hold it off until Yia Yia dies."

Claire twisted her mouth at him a little; she hadn't been entirely convinced he wasn't joking in the newspaper. "So there's a whole saga with the church?" she asked, not surprised. "Tell me?"
