Ooooo. Okay. Policewoman training. Dinah bounced to the mat, then tried to look serious, smiling at the police detective. "Hey, Detective Constable Day. How goes it?"

If anything, the smile could only make Daisy smile back. "Daisy, if you don't mind, Dinah, on the mats. I'm definitely not on duty here."

She'd have to just straight up hand in her badge for hitting a teenaged girl if she were. By her own orders.

"Cool! Daisy." She bit her lip, and said, "I'm guessing you have no powers, so I should let you know that I do, but I promise not to use them. Telekinesis and touch-telepathy. Just in case that weirds you out, it's cool if you don't want to fight me."

"Sweetie," Daisy said, "it would be kind of silly to go to a collective fighting group on this island and refuse to fight anyone without powers. That'd kind of limit the options. Throw whatever you want at me. Practise wouldn't be very helpful if it was the same-old, same-old, besides."

"Eeee!" Dinah stifled herself, grinned at Daisy, then bounced into ready position. "Cool! Thanks! And ready when you are."

Daisy nodded, settling into an easy stance that could work both defensively and offensively. "Ready," she assured the girl, wondering if she should suck it up and take the initiative for a first move. But it was just so ingrained in her head never to attack first, unless absolutely necessary. Maybe if she imagined Dinah being armed...

Dinah had the same mindset. But a lot less patience. And Liir had lead her on a dance last week, just avoiding and avoiding and avoiding.

Circle. Circle. Come on, wait for an opening...

She finally couldn't stand it, and threw a punch at Daisy's shoulder, expecting it to be blocked, but looking for a chance to kick.

Daisy didn't block. She didn't even think about what she did; it was more of something in the back of her brain that her body just did in a situation like this. It tried to detain the criminal. As Dinah swung forward, Daisy moved forward, hoping to intercept the hit by catching the girl's wrist with one hand and her forearm with the other, to eventually twist her around for cuffing.

Police training, and all.

More like fighting Hoshi than Jen, then and Dinah tried to turn with it, then kicked out and back, grunting and trying to hit Daisy on the thigh. Stronger than her, definitely. But not comparable to Helena. She threw her weight backward, after the kick.

A slight grunt wedged out of Daisy despite her efforts to hold in her wince at the kick. That was probably going to leave a bruise. As Dinah threw her weight back, she resolved to brace herself and tighten her grip on the girl's arm, winching it harder against her.

Really determined Detective Constable Daisy. Okay. Dinah lashed out with her other arm, aiming and elbow backward at shoulder height, and then jerking her head backward, hoping to connect with Daisy's head and loosen her hold.
