The beach, Christmas day

Dec 25, 2008 19:55

Jan, still wearing the garland boa Brooke had made for him yesterday, was at the beach. He'd yet to return to his room. Restless, he hadn't been able to sit still or sleep for more than a few minutes at a time.

He needed to be home. He needed to be home now, to discover what had become of the herd. He didn't even know if Tek had survived. His ( Read more... )

With her roommate gone for the break and so many people celebrating a holiday she didn't understand, Firekeeper didn't have much to do today, which was one of the reasons she was out wandering. The other was that she hadn't seen Jan since the battle in the forest two days ago, and she was worried about her friend.

She smiled when she caught sight of Jan, running up to stand next to him.

Am glad to see you, my friend, she said.

"Firekeeper." He whickered her name, then turned his head to nuzzle her, sidling closer. "It is good to see you. Thank you for what you taught me," he said, ears flicking, happier now. It was better not to be alone.

You're welcome, she grinned. It's not something many four-legs can do. Even those who taught me could only speak of it, and not show how it was done.

He bobbed his head, then leaned his shoulder against hers. "You gave me back my memory," he said. "When I washed up here, the voice told me to find the fire and I would know who I was. You showed me the fire, and now I know who I am."

Jack was out for a bit of a wander, wanting to be alone with his thoughts. They....Well, maybe the beach would lift his spirits a bit.

Jan saw him, ears flicking forward, but he looked as if he sought solitude, and so, not wishing to disturb him, he didn't greet him.

Lily was busy running through town and spreading Christmas cheer. Which was why she was yelling "Merry Christmas!" as she quite randomly found the beach, and then carried on back into town.

Jan whinnied a bemused, "Merry Christmas," after her, and watched as she went back to town. This must be part of the Christmas celebration Brooke had told him of.

Ino was... kind of bored, kind of content, and mostly just wandering. She'd practice more, later, but figured that fox-Ichigo might appreciate a walk on the beach. (And, really, that so would she.)

She grinned when she noticed Jan, and slowly headed in his direction. "Hey."

Jan flung up his head and cantered to meet her, prancing in a circle around her, careful to avoid the fox. "Ino!" he said, voice whickery and excited. "Ino, I remember who I am! I found the fire and my memory returned."

Ichigo, with a disgruntled bark in his direction, did his best to stay out of the way too.

"That's excellent, Jan!" she said, beaming. "I'm glad for you, and to see you so happy!"

He peered at the fox, ears canted sideways, and snorted once. "I had begun to give up on ever knowing who I was," he said, reaching to nuzzle her shoulder. "And now that I know, I must go home. I am the prince of the unicorns, and I must return to my herd and my mate."
