Caritas, Saturday- Three Minute Dates

Jaye was actually at work, and there early for once, which shocked the hell out of Tino. But see, she got to host tonight, and she was actually excited for it. She'd even brought popcorn to watch. Maybe someone could get slapped in three minutes and the slapper would end up in the pond. When people arrived, there was even a sign on the door.

Flipping the chair around to sit backwards, Ronon still wasn't sure how he felt about these short date things. "I take it you're Abigail?"

"That's me," Ronon said with a slight nod. "You having fun with this?" His hand indicated the room of three minute daters.

"It's something to do with one's evening," she said. "And I've not spoken to most of those I've gotten to meet tonight, so it's good for that at least. Yourself?"

"It's different," Ronon decided. "The people are interesting at least. You teach or got a shop?"

Alice had switched from water to Coke, and hoped she was getting the feel of this dating-thing. She looked around for someone who might be a Bender.

"This early in the day and you're already onto the soft drinks," said Bender, finding Alice. "You're not one of those teetotallers are you?"

A pause, then, "I'm Bender, by the way."

"I drink my tea, I've never totalled it," Alice said. "Someone asked earlier if I'd like any poison, but I declined. Alice Liddell, pleased to make your acquaintance."

"Alcohol isn't poison," Bender argued. "Not unless you drink so much that you choke on your own vomit."

"Yeah, me too."

"I thought we were talking of arsenic," she frowned. "Can you poison someone with alcohol, then? That's terribly useful to remember."

"Arsenic works too," agreed Bender. "Why'd someone want you dead?"

"Sure, if you've got enough of it," Bender told her. "It's just not very efficient and - more importantly - a waste of liquor."
