Bel was busily trying to set things up for Anders's surprise birthday party. He'd handwavily picked up a cake earlier, along with a bunch of pizzas. Okay, so Prue was still feeling kind of guilty about being mean to Anders when he didn't deserve it. So she showed up a little early to see if she could help. She just, you know, thought that Phoebe was going to be there too.

Even with the incredible domination of awkward the last time Mac had spoken to Anders, she was still here. She figured part of that 'lets try to be friends' agreement, probably involved showing up for birthday celebration.

She wasn't looking especially comfortable, that was just what social occasions did that to her, and was stood off to one side fiddling with her glass of lemonade.

Strangely enough, Mac didn't put a name to her gift. She had a feeling Anders might guess she'd been the one to leave that one, anyway.

Yeah, as soon as Anders opened it he had a pretty good idea of who'd picked out that particular present. After a few seconds of being torn between the urge to facepalm and the urge to laugh, he opted for . . . doing both at once.

It made for some interesting sound effects.

Aziraphale had turned beet red when Wilson had pronounced the book perfect for Anders gift. He'd then suggested picking up a copy for their own library.

So Anders was a little confused about going to the bowling alley, because he so didn't go bowling. In point of fact, it was kind of amazing that he even knew there was a bowling alley in town at all. But Phoebe had convinced him that just the two of them should go out and do something fun.

Not like he could say no to her, the big sucker.

"Okay," he said as they walked in, "I kind of have to warn you that I don't know how to bowl."

Phoebe had let him know they were on the way, so Bel was ready when Anders came in. "Surprise!" he said.

Anders turned bright red, then burst out laughing. "You big dork!" he said, and tacklehugged Bel. "I totally should've known, considering you said you were planning something and we didn't do anything yesterday."

Robin wanted to learn how to bowl. But he encountered a problem when he saw the size of the balls.
