Fast Eddies, Saturday Night [Birthday party for Anders]

Bel was busily trying to set things up for Anders's surprise birthday party. He'd handwavily picked up a cake earlier, along with a bunch of pizzas. Phoebe wasn't feeling very well, but she was supposed to bring Anders there at 7:30, or just send him down if she wasn't feeling up to it

Even with the incredible domination of awkward the last time Mac had spoken to Anders, she was still here. She figured part of that 'lets try to be friends' agreement, probably involved showing up for birthday celebration.

She wasn't looking especially comfortable, that was just what social occasions did that to her, and was stood off to one side fiddling with her glass of lemonade.

Mac sent him a quick smile. "Nice party," she said. "You've obviosly got more skillz in that respect than you think you have," she added.

"I'm just kinda making it up as I go along," Bel admitted, running a hand through his hair. "We don't have parties in the Underworld."

"Yeah, somehow those two words; parties and underworld, really don't seem to go together," she said.

"... You've been here a while, though. Probably picked up a bit on people in Fandom's knack for throwing bizarre but sucessful parties."

"I didn't arrange for anything bizarre. Should I have arranged for something bizarre?" Bel said, looking around in a slight panic.

"Not bizarre is good!" Mac clarified quickly. "Not bizarre leaves everyone present far less confused and potentially creeped out."

"People showed up," she pointed out. "And that's the most important part, really."

"Hey, Mac," Chad offered her a lift of his hand as a wave and, hopefully, a friendly aura because she was looking a little...out-of-sorts.

Mac returned his wave with her free hand. "Chad," she greeted, with a little smile. "How you doing?"

"Doin' good," Chad replied, adding, "Got a cat," since he didn't think he'd talked to Mac since then. "How're you? Doin' okay?" He figured she'd probably say she was, and wouldn't make a big deal about the fact that such an answer wouldn't exactly line up with how she kind of looked.

Mac, very predictably, nodded. "Not too bad," she said.

"Everyone seems to be getting cats these days," Mac commented. "I inherited a lemming instead."

"Lemmings're pretty cool," Chad said. "One of those ones we had before? They were...green? Maybe purple?" He couldn't remember, but he liked those lemmings.
