Mauvaise Chance Office, Monday Morning (and all day) [5/21]

Knowing that there was at least one new island resident looking for an apartment, and given the season, likely more, Xander opened up the office on Monday, made sure he had plenty of Willow's application forms around, and settled down behind the counter with some plans for built-in bookcases. Not that he was sure what sort John and Zoe would prefer

Buster came in and tapped his fake hand on the counter to get Xander's attention.

Xander looked up at the sound. "Morning."

Buster was a little taken aback by the eyepatch but didn't say anything since he was the one with no hand. "Um, hi. I'm Buster Bluth. I called about an apartment."

"I'm Xander Harris; I own some. What a lucky coincidence."

Dale stopped by on his way to the perk in the morning to check on the availability of an apartment for a more permanent place to stay.

When he saw Xander's eye patch he had brief vision of Nadine and her silent drape runners before shaking it off.

"Good day, sir," Dale said with a grin. "I was wondering if you had any vacancies here at the complex."

"Morning." Xander nodded. "Sure do. Everything from sub-basement to the top floor." He punched up the layout on the desk-computer and swiveled the screen around.

*plays dueling banjos on apartment-choice, watches Dale and Buster cagematch...*

"Well I prefer something on the East side of the building but the one on the fourth floor would appear to meet my needs," Dale said surveying the layout. "And if I may ask, what exactly is a holosuite?"

Xander pointed across the lobby to the holosuite entrance. "It's a ... Um. Pretend I'm not entirely crazy when I ask when are you from?" He had a guess based on the suit, but he wasn't exactly a Buffy-level fashion expert.

Maddie and Syvvie, it seemed, decided it was finally about time for them to look into a place that didn't charge by the night.

"Well, would you look at this place, Syvvie."

"Actually I find it kind of boring."

"Well. It's no Las Hermanas, but really, what is?"

Xander looked up as the two women entered, and gave them a smile. "Hi, there. Looking for an apartment?"

"Not at all, darling, we're here for the opera, can't you tell?" Syvvie snarked. Maddie burst into giggles.

"My, my, look at you, with the ruggedness and the pirateness and I'm almost not sure two little old ladies like us could trust such a manly, rugged pirate."

"Shut it, Mad." Syvvie shook her head. "Don't mind her. We'd love an apartment, darling. Something to share, not too many steps though, we're getting up there in years, and Maddie's knees aren't so good."

"I'm not a pirate; I just play one on videos that hopefully didn't make onto the internet." There were no videos, and Xander wasn't thinking at all about the spontaneous combustion that might be caused by the suggestion that there should be.

He did his now familiar screen-spinny maneuver to show the floorplans. "There's a big two-bedroom on the second floor, and a little one in the sub-basement. Elevators both places, so stairs shouldn't really be an issue."

After his Firearms workshop, Bridge heads back to town, stopping by the Perk for coffee and muffins before coming back to the apartments.

"Breakfast," he announces, as if it weren't obvious.

"And this is why I love you more than my zero other boyfriends," Xander says with a wide grin.

[bridge_carson]

"That's the *only* reason?" Bridge asks before biting in to a muffin.

"It's one of several."
