The Perk, Sunday Morning

Jan 22, 2007 00:20

After sleeping through most of Saturday, and awaking to a very odd radio broadcast, Jo decided the best thing would be coffee, and lots of it, so she made her way down to the Perk, where she ordered the strongest black coffee she could.

Listening to the podcast again, she wondered just how hard she hit her head on Thursday.

Wyatt, sporting slightly longer hair and unfortunate facial hair (because that is a true sign of evil), orbed into the Perk in search of a little fun. He spotted Jo and grinned. "Well, what do we have here?" he said.

Chris, also sporting the true signs of evil, orbed in right behind his brother. "Oh, she's a pretty one," he said with a smirk.

However, since the true signs of evil bore a remarkable similarity to the true signs of being a redneck, Jo wasn't quite as on guard as she could have been.

"Wyatt, Chris," she grinned. "I'm glad to see you guys are okay."

"Oh, we're fine," Wyatt said, circling around Jo, nodding to himself in appreciation as he inspected her. "And now even better."

After a night spent walking the grounds of the town, Leoben pushed open the doors of the establishment, paused, fixed his eyes on the girl currently in the store before walking over.

"Hello."

"Hey," Jo smiled back.

"It's a beautiful morning, isn't it?" Leoben said, stepping closer.

"Oh, definitely," Jo agreed, she stuck out a hand. "I'm not sure we've met. I'm Jo."

Bond had been up since before dawn, puzzling over the odd bits of information he'd gathered. In truth, he didn't have much, and when he'd finally called London and demanded to speak to M, he'd been told that she was here, in Fandom. That had led to a bit of breaking and entering, followed by a long lecture and very in the way of explanation.

M had warned him to keep his hands off her students, which Bond would have taken exception to if it hadn't been for his little tete-a-tete with Lana the night before. "How do I know which are your students?" he'd asked. "Exactly," had been her answer.

One thing the handwavey meeting with M had accomplished, though, was that Bond's mind was very much more focused on the job he'd come to do. A job that was making very little sense at the moment, but which he hoped Nadia could clear up for him ( ... )

Nadia arrived not in the least bit late, that's just an illusion caused by her mun's internet being bitchy, ordered a large coffee, and went to join this "Bond" guy.

She was slightly hung over. Having a dress-up party with a mega glam pop star will do that to you.

"Morning."

Nadia's state of mild hangover wasn't lost on Bond, and he kept his voice pitched low. He'd had mornings like that himself.

"Morning, Miss Santos. Can I treat you to a cup of coffee and some toast?"

He was offering coffee, and not tea.

Weeeeeeird.

"Sure. Toast sounds really good right now."

Lana wandered in to get some coffee - and, if she was lucky, a guy.

Waldo was inspecting the ceiling tiles in the Perk. So if you spotted a bespectacled face with a striped hat coming out of the ceiling, that's why.
