After an invigorating night of … stamp collecting … Wilson and Aziraphale slept in a bit, for them at least and enjoyed some … errr … more stamp collecting before finally getting up and starting their day. Showers went a long way to helping a person wake up, yet Wilson still brewed a pot of coffee to supplement his tea intake and he puttered ( Read more... )

Living with a mortal had put Aziraphale into the habit of doing most household chores by hand, but he'd always been that way when it came to his books. One by one they were carefully unpacked and put into the shelves, along with the collection of volumes Wilson had asked to be brought along. Most of the books relating to magic had been left behind for Kiki, but the rare editions, the novels and poetry, and the books of prophecies he'd be using for his class were all there.

He couldn't stay away from the kitchen for long, though. Not with the young doctor baking, and the delicious scents making their way through the apartment. So eventually the books were left to be finished another time, and the angel slipped into the kitchen, taking a seat up on one of the counters so he could steal bits of pineapple.

"You're going slow, so Miss Sciuto gets to share in the fun, aren't you love?"

Wilson made a playful show of swatting at Aziraphale's hand but it was just a mock rebuke, the angel being free to nibble pineapple.

"Have you ever tried to skin and core a pineapple, love? Believe me, it takes time." Wilson muttered as he turned to yet another section of pineapple to work on.

"How are the books coming along?"

He was curious to see what parts of the angel's own library the man had summoned and would probably spend a good hour once Phale had everything sorted, poking about on the shelves. For himself, he'd had the angel bring all his medical texts and journals. He had a mind to do some writing at least, to suppliment his income from teaching and to keep his name circulating in oncology circles while he stayed on Fandom.

"Oh! That reminds me, were you able to find and summon my laptop?"

A bit different from the worried, fretful mortal who got all flustered if the angel so much as miracled tea, isn't he?

That difference didn't go unnoticed, and the angel chuckled softly as he snitched another piece of pineapple.

"I keep telling you that it would be much easier if you'd let me deal with the pineapple, love," he replied, leaning over to steal a quick kiss as well.

"The books are coming along, although I rather miss Kiki's skills at organizing them. And yes, you'll find your laptop on the desk, along with all of the files you'd collected, and your notebooks."

The angel had been careful to retrieve every bit of material associated with the research and writing that Wilson had been doing over the past couple of years, knowing that his lover would be looking for it.

"I, er...also brought your guitar."

"I know but part of the... joy of cooking is doing it and Abby was really sweet to share her fruit basket and good nature. I was feeling pretty sorry for myself that day, let me tell you." Wilson said with a smile and quickly returned the angel's kiss with one of his own so that his lover wouldn't fret over what he'd just said.

Nodding along as Phale listed what he'd brought over, Wilson's head came up at the news about his guitar.

"My guitar?" Dark eyes twinkled. "Hmmmm, should I assume you'll be wanting me to play, said guitar from time to time?"

Abby was not pleased that her tests on the feather kept going all hinky. She longed for her beloved mass spectrometer that was back at her lab and didn't understand why Gibbs didn't want her moving a million dollar machine to her apartment. It's not like she wouldn't have taken good care of it!

She bounced up to Wilson and Aziraphale's door, wearing a lab coat and carrying two cups of Caf-Pow and stopped in shock. "Whoa. Furniture."

Wilson and Phale had been in the kitchen, discussing the very thing that Abby was now blinking at, the summoning of bits and pieces to make their lives comfortable. Including, all the new furniture!

Hearing her at the door, the front door standing almost directly across from the kitchen, Wilson walked over and poked his head through the archway.

"Hey there, Abby! I thought I heard you. Come on in."

"Furniture?" Abby asked staring at the room. "When did you do all this? I haven't seen any moving trucks since I was down here the other day."

She turned in a circle as she walked towards the kitchen. "There's something hinky about all of this."

Wilson put on an innocent expression, though his dark eyes danced at Abby. He had a feeling she would soon be figuring out Phale's challenge but he wasn't about to help her along.

"Is there? You don't like the kitchen table? I always found the tiling to be best for using as a work surface and an eating surface."

He knew that wasn't the case but gently teased anyway. Hopefully he wouldn't get Caf-Pow up the nose for his efforts.

Ellie was heading downstairs when she smelled the heavenly scent of coffee drifting from #4. She poked her head in the open door. "Good morning!" she said cheerfully.

Peeking back out of the kitchen, with a bowl in his hands full of the beginnings of cream cheese frosting, Wilson smiled warmly as he recognized Ellie.

"Good morning, Ellie. Do you live here in the building as well? Come on in." Wilson invited with with a twitch of his head.

"Number nine," Ellie said, stepping into the apartment. "Close to the roof so I can get up there with my telescope from time to time."

"Fourth floor! I asked about that floor but Abby had already beaten me to the two bedroom up there." Wilson said with a grin, waving Ellie on into the kitchen.

"Can I get you something? Coffee, tea?"

Jesse was on his way out to The Perk to get some coffee and breakfast when the scents from his neighbor lured him to the open door.

Besides, he really should get to know the neighbors.

He rapped on the door frame to announce himself. "Mornin'."

Wilson recognized that voice and he quickly stepped out of the kitchen, rubbing his hands on a dishtowel.

"Good morning, Reverend." He greeted Jesse with a friendly smile. "Come on in."

Jesse took the invitation and stopped to look around with a low appreciative whistle. "You have better delivery service than I do. I got a bed and a couch now."

Wilson coughed slightly, not entirely sure where Phale had gotten off to, perhaps back to finish up with the books and/or to find himself a crossword puzzle but he remembered what his lover had said about meeting with Jesse and hoped to keep things friendly.

After all...there was flour around and that could get messy.

"Yes, in a manner of speaking. Come on in to the kitchen, I've got coffee and tea...have you had breakfast yet?"

Elliot popped her head in the door. "Is this a party?"

Wilson popped his head around the doorframe of the kitchen and smiled.

"Hello there, neighbor?" He couldn't remember having met Elliot yet. "And it's a bit of one, food... coffee...tea...cream cheese frosting bowl and cake batter to arm wrestle over. Come on in."

"I could so use some coffee," Elliot said, stepping in. "And gimme a spoon and I'll take care of the frosting all by myself."

She held out her hand for Wilson to shake. "Before I eat all your food? I should introduce myself. I'm Elliot and I teach at the high school."

"I have to get some of the frosting on the cake first...though it is possible I doubled the recipe." Wilson said with a wink and then leaned to take her hand.

"Dr. James Wilson and I will also be teaching up at the high school. It's a pleasure to meet you. Come on in and make yourself at home, I'll grab you a cup of coffee and then we can do the 'so..what are you teaching' song and dance."
