Meredyth sat tiredly on the porch, her body limp with exhaustion. It had been nerve-wracking, moving to a new country, a new town, a new world. But what else was a lonely Aussie girl to do, when abandoned by her one true love, than run away and start a Pub?!
So here she was in this strange little town, watching the passers-by, and wondering if she'd find some friends? If people would come and patronise her pub, listen to her poems and social commentary, laugh at her jokes, drink her beer, and eat good Aussie food.
She'd heard about the abominations that were 'aussie' theme restaurants overseas - she was going to set the record straight. There would be no giant onions here, no appallingly named foreign dishes pretending to have that down-under, dinkum touch.
Would they come?
Would the competition attack her, when all she wanted was a little place that felt like home, where the beer was cold, the steaks thick, the stuffed koala over the bar free of fleas, and the conversation raunchy?
Maybe the Aussie barbie on Opening Night would bring them in?
