The only reason that Dolf had picked this particular common room was because it was the first one, which meant more people might see it. "It would be pretty useful," Dolf admitted. He gave her a smile, trying to project don't show anyone how scared you are the way he'd done during those months in 1212. It was working so far. "Which common room is yours?"

He nodded thoughtfully. "Just make simple sandwiches," Dolf instructed. "So we don't waste too much food."

A pause.

"You're at reserves, right? I'm Dolf." Which she probably already knew if she was at reserves, but it was polite, right? Right.

"Fifth floor," Dolf admitted, wryly. "But second has more people coming through, I think. At least they would see it from here." He cast another look towards his sandwichy set-up. "Though nice to officially meet you, too. I don't talk to enough people who are on reserves."

Or enough people, period. "Nevermind that things are really busy right now."

Would you like some coffee with that understatement, Dolf?

"Well, you can talk to me any time," Dolf promised. Language barrier meant it took him a while to realise that might be misinterpreted. "I mean, if you want to make a new friend," he added quickly. "Especially when things aren't this bad."

He'd looked worried for about two seconds until she'd added that, yes, and now visibly relaxed again. "I'm a sophomore, I think," he said, "But we still have many months ahead." Hopefully. "How long have you been here?"
