Backstory for Peridot-the-villager!
Peridot is a Gem, an inorganic being, and as such she's not subject to the same physical horrors that the humans around her are subjected to. Which means that this lucky little green lady got to watch as the humans around her started to lose their memories, started to (in Gem terminology) corrupt into the monsters that are now roaming the island.
It was a lot to take in for a member of a technically immortal race of space rocks whose bodies are even hard-light projections that reflect their minds. And it meant getting acquainted with the concept of human mortality quickly. Unfortunately, she got acquainted with it in the worst possible way, when one of her closest friends was killed by a monster trying to save her while she was sprawled flat, reeling from a blow to the face that damaged her gemstone and left her unstable for... basically forever. Damaged gems can have disastrous results on a Gem's physical manifestation, as can mental and emotional trauma. All of it at once was too much, and

And because I'm a special snowflake, Jono is also a villager. Because of course he is. He's that technically immortal mutant whose consciousness exists within the fiery psionic energy that blew his body up in the first place. He just also happens to inhabit an organic meat-suit consisting of his own damaged body.
Or, well, he happens to inhabit an organic meat-suit that bears a striking resemblance to a fifteen foot tall monster made of flame and molten rock, as one does. It makes living in the village a bit of a challenge, what with all the burning and looking like a large monster en route to boss status, so he tends to skulk keep mostly to himself on the outskirts, keeping an eye (he doesn't really have eyes anymore, but that doesn't seem to stop him) out for hollows and monsters that do intend to do some harm out there

And then the rest, because these guys are a little less currently-involved-in-villager-life. I've got Sparkle and Nikolai as hollows, Reno as a monster (complete with super speed and zappy powers, because I had to make a guy who can already run straight up the side of a brick building in two seconds flat even more terrifying), and Kanan as a (non-finale) boss.
I might have gone a little nuts with sign-ups. Couldn't be helped. I'm terrible.
If anyone's interested in noodling out some pre-monster backstory with any of the above, I'm totally game. Otherwise I'm mostly just going to have them roam about causing chaos and horror and scarring my FH-versions of Sparkle and Kanan for life because, again, I'm terrible.

Monster-Bo is a combination of the worst extremes of Bo's canon possibilities: she's become both the ultimate life-force-sucker she was created to be, and a mindless, constantly mutating horror. The good news is that whatever was left of her mind when things really went to shit said "GUARD THE SCHOOL," so that's where she went, and when she changed, that's where she stayed, because parts of her body are physically fused into the building.
In practical terms, this means she's a huge, constantly-shifting, blue-energy-covered meat-thing about two floors tall and covering/part-of the main entry doors of the school. It sometimes looks like a woman, sometimes a demonic, winged, fire-breathing stallion, sometimes a combination of the two, and often just a giant fleshy mass with a pair of sexy lips, eyes, or other, much less SFW body parts looming out of it.
Fighty - I'm up for arranging this whenever, and I'm fine if somebody wants to take her out permanently at some point too:Anybody who gets within a 10-foot radius is likely to be

I don't think that would work on her, sadly. (Because blowing her up with looove would be funny.) The specific question's never come up in canon, but she absorbed the chi of basically... Toronto, and just got more powerful. Plus she also has the ability to project it back out of her - the series finale is Bo overloading her Evil Dad with chi, because he's not a succubus and can't handle that amount of life-force.

AU John Constantine, somehow, got an inkling of something especially nasty on the way. And, being Constantine, he weighed his options and got the fuck out of town. Possibly with a casual offer of a trip to London for his friends, because John KNOWS most of them are fucking idiots who would stay and try to help if they knew there was ominous shite looming, and they'd guilt him into staying, and that's how stupid men end up dead
