Probably the thing that fascinated Jack most about the new Doctor was his taste in clothes; the pinstripe suit and trench coat were so different from the jumper and leather jacket he remembered, and he quizzed the Doctor extensively on why he'd chosen it.
"I just like it, that's all," the Doctor said, shrugging. "Why, don't you?"
"Do your tastes in clothes always change when you regenerate?"
"So far."
"How many times have you regenerated so far?" Rose asked, her own curiosity piqued by Jack's.
"Nine."
Jack considered this, then asked hopefully, "Any chance you were ever into leather trousers?"
