Sam: Good evening, everyone. I hope you're all enjoying your new homes away from the dorms.
Dean: Cabins can be totally awesome.
Sam: They're definitely awesome if everyone has the same kind of attitude about things.
Dean: Oh come on. You had fun in Seahorse, stop denying it.
Sam: Only when we were playing pranks on the others, not when I was being forced to do embarrassing things.
Dean: Embarrassing is a state of mind, dude. You only are if you let yourself be.
Sam: That's easy for you to say, because you have no shame.
Dean: You say that like it's a bad thing.
Sam: Most people probably would consider it to be a bad thing, but then, I know you've never cared much about what other people think.
Dean: Just the important people. Family.
Sam: Well, it doesn't matter how embarrassed I got in the past, because I'm in a cabin full of people who won't make me do bad things. I think.
Dean: We need to work on your definition of bad thing, but if they do, I can always beat them up for you. It's what big brothers are for.
Sam: I know, and that makes me feel a lot better.
School which is almost back!
Sam: Nothing happened, because it's Sunday, and it's summer. But don't forget that workshops start tomorrow!
Dean: You don't need to sound quite so cheerful about it.
Sam: Yes I do! We haven't had class in weeks.
Dean: You say that like it's a bad thing.
Sam: You'll change your mind when you see how cool your workshops end up being.
From the dorms to the cabins...
Sam:
Jack packed for the cabins, as did
John, who got to try to figure out how to safely transport his fish. I will say this about dogs - they're very easy to move most of the time.
Seely and Aravis celebrated their one year anniversary - congratulations! - and
Kevin was reunited with Toby, and they proceeded to...um, celebrate that too.
Over at the cabins,
Jaina moved into Andromeda.
Dean moved into Virgo, and watched Hunter explore. Does it feel a little weird to not be in a cabin together, or is that just me?
Dean: Not just you. But we managed fine last summer. Even if people kept leaving the school from our cabin. And no, it wasn't Alec's and my fault.
Sam: Yeah, why do I find that hard to believe?
Marco and Dean talked about pets.
Brooke was happy to see that the cabins aren't rustic and rugged, and then she and Dean talked about...kinky sex? Seriously?
Dean: The fact our cabin name is Virgo? Totally ironic, dude.
Sam: Okay, forget what I said before. I'm really glad I'm not in your cabin.
Marco and Brooke agreed that they still have their dignity, which I'm not entirely certain about after that last note.
Lucas and Brooke found it strange that they keep running into each other. This place has a way of doing that to people, seriously. And
Lucas and Dean bonded over fire and hunting. Aww, did you find another pyro like yourself?
Dean: Actually he knows nothing about fire.
Sam: Are you going to train him in how to burn things then?
Dean: Thought I'd start with roasting marshmallows. Much more appropriate to camping than a salt and burn.
Sam: Baby steps. That's a good way to go.
Alice fell asleep really early.
Ino was in the gym this morning, working with
Liir to teach him to not hesitate when he's fighting.
Hinata peeked in to the gym too, and Ino was very glad to see her.
Back at the cabins,
Ned was enjoying the scenery around the Little Dipper campfire.
Worf made sure that he was at the right cabin before settling in, and he and Ned introduced themselves.
Katara explained cabin etiquette to Worf, which is always a nice thing to do for the new people.
Ned and Katara talked about how he doesn't think he should be here, and he introduced her to his dog.
Romeo and Katara got some introductions done when they realized they're in the same cabin, and
Inara tried to convince Ned that you really do get used to Fandom, eventually. She's not wrong about that at all.
Dean: Yeah, the day comes that you wake up to a tiny sheep walking over your face and just shrug and mutter "Fandom weirdness" and go back to sleep.
Sam: And that day comes for everyone, so don't worry.
Inara and Katara decided their cabin is the most attractive, which shows they haven't laid eyes on a number of the seniors.
Worf and Inara talked outer space while
Romeo and Inara talked about whether or not they'll enjoy camping in the cabins.
Kaylee introduced herself to Ned, and he offered her his coat, but they were by the fire, so...
Romeo asked Worf where he's from, which seems to be a common question, and then he talked to
Ned about Digby and whether or not he can do tricks. Apparently, he has the trick of laziness down pat. I think he and Scout would get along well.
Lana settled in at the Ursa Major cabin.
Dawn came by with her zillion and a half bags of Things I Will Never Understand Why Girls Pack, and complained about not being in the same cabin as her amazing, awesome boyfriend. That's a completely valid concern, in my totally non-biased opinion.
Bridge brought marshmallows, which shows someone thought ahead towards cabin move-in day, and he and
Dawn talked about how to go to college while still living in Fandom.
Isabel and Bridge apparently talked about how awesome Bridge is, which makes me think some squirrels got some marshmallows.
Dean: Listen and learn, newbies. Bribing the squirrels works.
Sam: They really do get annoyed when you're not nice to them.
Lana and Isabel talked about all the awesome sweets that can come from campfire cooking, and
Lana and Shawn made plans to go exploring.
Lana and Meg talked about how awesome bug spray is at this time of year while
Meg and Dawn talked about nature. I'm going to assume that's not a euphemism for anything because I don't want to get frying panned.
And
Z proved that she and Bridge think alike, because she brought chocolate to go with the marshmallows.
Dean: Always prepared, that woman is. Over at Centaurus,
Temari was angry at her campfire. Huh. Usually that's not exactly a productive thing to channel anger at.
Giselle was very excited but Temari wasn't too impressed. Probably too busy being angry at the campfire.
Deidara and Temari sniped at each other. Possibly about the fire.
One of my old cabinmates from last year,
Turtle dropped by and introduced herself to Temari and talked about Forms. Not my choice of campfire topic but to each their own, I guess.
Over at Caelum's campfire,
Ino had marshmallows. Now, see, that's more my speed for hanging out at campfires.
Cimorene met Ino and they shared marshmallows and talked about the proper way to introduce yourself. Saying it with marshmallows is a good place to start.
Sam: Especially if you're saying it to Dean. Then you can watch him try to see how many marshmallows he can stuff into his mouth at once.
Dean: Perfectly legitimate campfire activity. Over at Lupus campfire there was
Sokka playing Duran Duran. Dude! Just say no! We really need to work on your taste in music.
Sam: Yeah, because your music is so much better than that.
Dean: Completely.
Blair and Ella talked about places and music and
Blair and Sokka talked about where they're from.
Cal wondered if Blair is really into retro and
Ella and Sokka bonded over having Katara as a big sister. Hey Sammy, do you bond with anyone over having me for a big brother?
Sam: Not that I can think of. Do you want me to start bonding with your fake siblings?
Dean: You could. My newest, Alice, I think you'd like her.
Katara threatened to kill Sokka because he offered to mate her to a new kid. Wow. See, that's something you'd never think of doing. You're usually trying to stop me from-
Sam: I will never try to mate you to anyone. Ever.
Dean: I do prefer to be my own agent in those kind of situations.
Ella gawked at the fight. Unless there's actual firepower -- or I guess waterpower in Katara's case -- being thrown about, don't worry about it too much, Ella.
Alex checked to see if this was Lupus Cabin and
Ella introduced herself to him.
Cal was out for a cigarette and Sokka invited him to join them and then told him smoking kills.
Cal then told Alex to say no to smoking, while puffing away.
Town which still has a better view than it did before
Dean: Down in town,
Roy had a bad dream, then he left town with
River and Lee on the Acorn.
Anders was staring into space and humming at Caritas -- hopefully not Duran Duran -- and at the clinic,
Doogie took the day shift and
Adah took the evening.
Sam: And no one was there after having set themselves on fire at their cabins. That's a good start.
Dean: That would be an important safety tip my brother's providing there. Don't set yourself on fire. *pause* Okay, unless you're Johnny Storm.
Sam: And always make sure to share your s'mores with your cabinmates. That's important too.
Dean: Or students with the last name Winchester who happen by.
Sam: We take bribes to say nice things about people on the radio too. Just so you all know.
