He'd considered her skin when collecting the flowers? The rush of warmth spreading through Oona had little to do with the bonfire, or the temperature of the evening.

"I enjoy talking to you as well," Oona met Adam's eyes with her own.

She couldn't explain how she'd only agreed to Molly's madcap plotting because it appeared Adam was quite happy joining in Jack's harem, or was that Bacchanal?

"This is silly," Oona gave a nervous chuckle. "I've been in battle against Chaos daemons and creatures of Law in its senility. I've faced war, death and the deprivations man is capable of committing against fellow man. Yet I'm getting butterflies in my stomach just talking to you. So either you are exceedingly terrifying, or I'm being exceedingly foolish. And frankly, right this moment, you are not so terrifying."

Not in the sense of a physical threat, anyway. Although there were other ways to be intimidating. Such as threatening a push into the unknown. Something she had rarely balked at facing before. Again, not physical danger. It was emotions she seemed to fear. There was more vulnerability facing emotions than there was facing an enemy in battle.

"Would you like to... dance?" She didn't ask if he could dance. He could wield a sword with fluid grace, then he could dance, even if he might not know the formal steps.

So why did she feel they were already dancing?

(OOC: I've got to get him to talk about how much thought he put into Oona's lei in his journal. Since I had to listen to it, others should get to read it.)

Methos watched how Oona met his eyes; relieved to see it, and to hear the words she spoke as she made the choice. He gave her a smile warm with the relief he was feeling. Methos told Oona sincerely, "I'm glad to hear that."

He listened to her nervous chuckle, and her explanation of why her nervousness was silly. Methos shook his head at Oona's conclusion that either he was exceedingly terrifying or she was being exceedingly foolish. He admitted sheepishly, "You aren't the only one here that's scared."

Methos added quickly, "You aren't terrifying. I trust you. I find you beautiful. It's... battling a foe you know what you need to do, and you've an idea what they think of you. Sharing your heart, even with someone you know at least likes you a little, you aren't sure what they're going to do with your heart."

He nodded quickly when Oona asked him if he'd like to dance, "I would love to dance with you. Should I lead, will you, or will we find a balance?"

He was right, of course. This wasn't a campaign with clear cut guidelines. And Oona was always free with her friendship, even her joy, but a bit wary with her heart. Her mother had left when Oona was but seventeen. She was not dead, and last Oona heard, not in peril. She was just ready to resume her wandering, her profession. Oona had only known her father for a week. He was strange. He held obvious admiration and affection for her, but his people considered softer emotions a weakness. HE didn't care, and did allow himself to be protective, to show how precious she was. But he couldn't stay either.

Her closest friend she only saw on occasion.

The heart was a frightening thing. So easily bruised.

It was good to hear that she was not the only one feeling thus. It made her feel on more even ground.

Adam calling her beautiful once again caused another blush, but a flattered smile. It was odd and unfamiliar, but rather pleasing to know someone found her appealing.

"I find you beautiful as well." Oona looked up at Adam.

Indeed, he was elegant and attractive in appearance, and had a complex, yet balanced soul. And she found him personally sexy as hell.

"I believe it is traditional for the man to lead in formal dancing. But this hardly seems formal. And I am one to appreciate balance." Oona took Adam's hand and tugged it toward the dance area, though she walked beside him.

(OOC: It made her feel on more even ground. That's how Methos was hoping it'd work. It seemed only fair to him, given that he was glad to hear she has butterflies.)

Methos enjoyed watching his words cause Oona to blush. It wasn't just the knowledge she was reacting to his words that made it pleasant. He also enjoyed seeing the color in her cheeks, and how the carefully chosen colors in her lei complimented the blush rather than overwhelming it or distracting from it. Methos was pleased with his effect on Oona and how his work complimented it.

When she told him she found him beautiful too, he blinked with mild surprise. Methos appreciated the compliment. He was simply more use to being called cute or handsome. It was different to hear someone call him beautiful. Methos smiled at Oona. He certainly appreciated the words, would have even if they hadn't been unusual ones. They came from someone he cared about.

Methos nodded, "It's traditional for the man to lead, but there's no one to say we have to follow tradition. I could follow. I'd rather we find a balance."

He blushed faintly as she tugged him towards the dance floor. Methos moved, enjoying how Oona walked beside him once he no longer required drawing out. He decided to pay no attention to the changing music, feeling they could slow dance regardless of what was coming from the speakers. Methos tentatively took Oona into his arms, and began to softly hum a tune they could slow dance to.

"Mmmm, and he sings as well. You are a man of meny talents." Oona teased.

She was a bit nerveous, but excited as well. And she seemed to tingle where Adam touched her, making her want to lean into his touch.

"We missed sword practice today, with all the preperations," she mused. "I have to admit I enjoy the time with you. And the physical activity. You're certainly keeping me on my toes."

Oona swayed softly. This was just another sort of dance.

Methos' humming faltered with Oona's teasing, but the grin it drew showed that it was amusement rather than self-consciousness making him pause. He admitted to her ruefully, "I've done some singing for my supper in my time. I don't know if music is a universal constant to be found everywhere, but I've heard it in corners of my world most people wouldn't expect to hear it in."

While Methos had needed to be careful with his feet as Jack and he had gone from the fire to his hut it wasn't the same. Dancing with Oona Methos didn't just have to remember where to put his feet -- he had to remember he had two of them. The sword practice and skinny-dipping with Oona had been different too. Only when she'd touched him had it been close to this.

Methos nodded his agreement that they'd missed their sword practice. His smile grew as Oona admitted to enjoying their time together. Methos smiled warmly, "I might not have been the best sparring partner this morning. After hunting boar and wild flowers yesterday I shared some drinks with Frank. I haven't sampled any of the drinks tonight. I don't need them with you."
