It's Luau Time

Who: Faith Lehane
When: Day 38, Night: The Luau
Where: Camp Crash II
Invited: Everyone
Status: Complete (action moved to another thread)

Making her way barefoot across the moonlit sand, Faith broke into a huge grin at the luau's success. The nightly bonfire burned and sparked brightly in orange, red and yellow, the crackling and sharp scent of burning wood mingling with the salty and damp ocean smells. It was the signature smell of Camp Crash II, but somehow tonight it was warm and festive. Maybe it was the tiki torches that dotted the perimeter of the camp and blazed over the woven palm mats that made up the makeshift dance floor; maybe it was the music, an eclectic mix of mp3 tunes boasting everything from country to hip hop, playing on the rigged "sound system" created by the island braniacs (after some complaining).

Maybe it was just that everyone was relaxed and happy.

The TARDIS group had returned after receiving word along the telepathic hotline, and wine and beer, a good portion of it alien, a larger portion of it highly alcoholic, and all of it very good, had been provided courtesy of Nine who declined to say why he had such varying stores stashed away in the TARDIS "attic" or how long that said stores had been there.

Double checking the flower in her hair, Faith blew a kiss to Dean in response to his cat call and less than quiet or subtle innuendo and continued on her way, a drink cup in each hand. Like everyone else, she'd gone all out tonight; the Hawaiian print wraparound skirt and halter were offset perfectly by the large tropical flower in her hair. She'd even let Molly have a go at her hair and it curled softly around her face and over her shoulders.

Faith veered around a laughing group and toward the one person whose laughter and relaxation was something that she thought she'd never see.

"Gotta say, my timing is perfect," Faith purred, leaning over Daniel's shoulder to slip one of the cups into his hand. "Looks like you're on empty."

Daniel accepted the cup. He peered into it and then gave Faith a relaxed and - in her esteemed opinion - sexy smile. "Should I be worried about you keeping me liquored up?"

Faith raked her fingers through his hair. A sign of how relaxed Daniel was he didn't shy away from her touch or draw up the walls around him. Getting him to this point had taken some work, but Faith was nothing if not persistent. That, and she had some help. Molly was good at pulling people out of their shells, and the persistent teasing, flirting and dancing from the females of the camp loosened Daniel up considerably.

Of course, Faith was far from done. She had plans for Daniel yet. Plans that didn't involve sitting here the rest of the night sharing drinks. She'd tried to catch George's eyes, but the other woman obviously hadn't noticed her, or knew exactly what Faith was trying to communicate to her and was pretending not to notice. That didn't leave Faith without options, although she wondered how game Chloe would be to play.

But later. The night was still young.

"Nah, not too much." Her fingertips danced down his neck, along his shoulder and down his arm as Faith circled around to settle onto the sand as close to Daniel as possible without climbing into his lap. She leaned in close, her voice a low whisper as her mouth hovered only mere spaces from his, "It's not any fun if you're coming along for the ride 'cause you're drunk."

To Faith's surprise, Daniel didn't draw back. Instead he leaned in, his breath blowing along her cheek until his words caressed her ear, sending a shiver down her spine. "Who says I'm coming along?"

"Well, I haven't given up yet," Faith whispered back. Then to up the ante, she nipped gently on his ear lobe.

The yelp of surprise that came from Faith's throat was not at all faked. In a flash, Faith felt herself lifted around the waist and plopped down onto Daniel's lap. Her drink splashed over her hand and onto them, making Faith laugh.

"What the hell? You are drunk," Faith wiggled in, happily making herself comfortable.

"No, not quite, not yet," Daniel replied. He picked up the cup that he'd sat aside when he decide to manhandle her. "But I figure subtly has never been your strong suit, so I thought I'd help you out. And anyway, you should know," Faith jumped at the tickling poke to her side, "Just because I don't play the game, doesn't mean that I don't know how."

The playfulness twinkling in his blue eyes and his teasing grin made him positively yummy.

Faith held his gaze and took a sip from her drink. "Dr. Jackson, I think you just upped the ante."
