The kid with the hair hadn't turned up for his shift tonight, though he had left a brief and vague "family emergency" message. So the nurses were in charge tonight, if by "in charge" you meant "watching The Real Housewives of New York City."

Adah Price was a smart girl and, as such, she certainly understood her limitations. "Angels are bad."

"Why do you say that?"

"The statues!"

"That doesn't mean all angels are bad."

"Oh yeah, what about the vampire?"

"He's not bad!"

"I have medical charts that beg to differ."

The nurses were looking at the clinic schedule and complaining. That cute Doctor Wilson had left and Doctor Troy hadn't told them, so the clinic had been dark yesterday. And now they had two more shifts to cover. They decided to settle the question of who would be stuck with what shift by logging into Facebook and playing Scrabulous.

The clinic was open, and the nurses were available to tend to your needs.

Monday found the nurses discussing the Academy Awards and who was a fashion disaster last night.

The nurses were still in charge come morning, and discussion about Hearts 'n' Scalpels continued, particularly about which of the lead characters lived, died, or looked best naked.

The hot boy from the school -- no, not the one with all the hair, the other one -- hadn't shown up for his shift tonight, so the nurses were on duty and gossiping about the season finale of Hearts 'n' Scalpels. There might have been some flailing involved.
