Stark arrived at the clinic for his usual shift and found the clinic already partially occupied. He quickly checked in on Tyler and Nadia, and anyone else who's still here that I missed then took a seat at the desk. Nadia wasn't so much feeling better as she was feeling really restless. There was an emergency going on, and she couldn't help, and she had no idea what was going on with her friends.

As such, she was working on the idea of actually getting up and going for a walk.

After busting in on Jamie, Veronica had assembled a care package for Nadia and finally made her way to the clinic.

"Hey," she greeted softly, not sure if Nadia was awake or not.

Nadia pushed herself up into a half sitting position, supported by her uninjured arm. "Hey. Do you know what's going on?"

"Lay down," Veronica said. "And all I know is that Bel told me Pippi and Walter are possessed and hurt you."

She moved in to the room and sat in one of the chairs near Nadia's bed. "Are you okay?" she asked softly, her tone indicating that she was inquiring more about Nadia's mental state than physical.

Nadia didn't lie down. She'd been doing that all day. Instead she worked on sitting up a bit more. She shook her head. "Alphonse came earlier. He said he'd get the statues, but I don't know what's happening and I don't know if everyone's okay." Her tone made it clear that if it weren't for the fact that she was having to use her good arm to hold herself up, she'd probably be hitting something right now.

She nodded. "Cursed statues. Walter got them in England. That's why they're possessed." She managed to sit all the way up and swung her legs over the edge of the bed, then sat there gasping for a minute.

Damn, rib injuries really take the fun out of doing just about anything, didn't they.

"Please lay back down," Veronica asked. "You're going to hurt yourself worse if you don't. Everything will be fine. Parker and Bel and Pip are all out there trying to fix what's wrong." At least she hoped they were. But even if they weren't, someone must be, Veronica was sure of that.

Nadia opened her mouth to object, but was interrupted by Artie's voice from outside the room. She swallowed. "Dios, they're hurt,"

Veronica's expression hardened. "Stay here," she said, her tone indicating that it wasn't an option. "I'll go and see what's going on."

She paused and pulled out two items from her bag and handed them to Nadia. One was the wooden cross Marty had given her long ago and the other was a plastic bottle of holy water.

"Just in case," she said, before leaving the room.

Option or not, Nadia wasn't staying put when her friends might be hurt. She slid her feet to the floor and used the wall as a crutch to head out to the lobby.

She did, however, keep the wooden cross handy. She couldn't carry that and the water bottle at the same time, though.

Alfred and Veronica helped Nadia back into the exam room bed. Veronica modded with permission sat down in one of the nearby chairs. Alfred also modded with permission left quickly to see to his student, and once Nadia seemed to be relaxed, Veronica fell asleep.

Nadia didn't, though. Not quite yet.

Jamie snuck into the clinic and by trial and error finally found Nadia's room.

He stuck his head in and whispered. "Nadia? You awake?"

Nadia didn't try to sit up to see her visitor this time, just twisted her head around slightly. "Yeah," she said softly. "Veronica's asleep, though."

Jamie looked over at V and smirked. "Your sister is quite protective of you. Did she mention she almost tasered me?"
