Reading up on the latest FAP threads, I saw that someone had just reread the Draco Trilogy and had remarked, "Someone has to tell somebody how bad that fanfiction is ( Read more... )

my finger is forever pressing down on the scroll key.

Ha ha ha ha. That is a great line.

As for the rest of it: Neither am I friends with Cassie nor do I dislike her, but I do think her fic would have been better without quotes from Buffy and I found the plot too sprawling. However, I think it is vastly more popular to bash Cassie in an act of self-aggrandizement than it is to bash her detractors.

Who are you anyway and why do you have me friended? I dislike popular fics and have nothing interesting to say about the state of the fandom.

I thought so too.

I think her fic would have been better if it hadn't have been written.

Is it? I've yet to see much bashing of her fic since those bashings occur behind friends-locked posts. Even if people hate her fic, they fear to admit it in fear of the hordes of those summer romance, trashy type, novel reading freaks. Cassie Claire is an easy target, I'll give you that. So I'll be moving onto other freaks and geeks of this revolting fandom now.

I am the fandom_bitch. You seemed interesting. I don't discriminate.

Oh, ok. Just checking. I'm not big on personal vendettas. Provacative bitchiness, on the other hand, can be amusing.

You don't need to. You're not the one posting in this journal.

Ha ha ha ha. Ok, point taken.

Yes, I do think it's more of a trend to be anti-Cassie. It's like being anti-Danielle Steele. It doesn't seem original to me. What's the point of saying it? Sure, there are heaps of stupid fans who will defend anything (as well as intelligent fans), but being an intellectual snob without backing up your opinions is just as bad. Now, if you were more specific about what was poorly done in the trilogy, I'd respect your review, but this just sounds like you hate famous people.

Both churn out insipid writings that tell the same story over and over again. I can see the common thread.

I'm not anti-Cassie Claire. I'm anti-Trilogy. I'm also anti-shitty fics but that's a lost cause in most areas.

Giving a fuck about the Trilogy enough to say that people against it need to back up opinions on it is also just as bad.

The plot sucked. What sort of opinions can I state to back this up other than 'read it and tell me that it wasn't predictable'? Better yet, the Draco there isn't canon and is just a damn fluffball without a personality. You want back up? Look at all his lines. They seem to be based off a tv show. Need more back up? I find him bland and a stereotypical bad boy turned misunderstood horny teenager. Now, if ( ... )

Yes and? I don't care about it at all, but a well-supported opinion will influence more people. It will also annoy the bad author more, assuming that's what you're going for. Why stoop to the level of the fangirls you despise when it's perfectly possible to criticize them without looking bad yourself.

What could you say? Well, for starters, something like "the author repeats plot device X in chapters A, B and C, and the only difference between them is Y." Don't tell us that Draco is an unrealistic fantasy figure; tell us what specific qualities he lacks and what specific scenes he is unrealistic in. (Yes, yes, I realized that you want to answer "All of them!!!", but that's a cop out.)

And I need your respect so very much.

Well, naturally, you might not care about my respect, but you must care about someone's or you wouldn't have bothered posting this for all the world to see. If you want to upset people ( ... )

Well, mercy me! I had no idea that everyone here was trying to influence others! Is that what I'm trying to do? Here I thought I was just reviewing a fanfiction!

I thought I was trying to influence people. Do slow down. You're making it difficult for me to keep up the pace.

Why stoop to the level of the fangirls you despise when it's perfectly possible to criticize them without looking bad yourself.

Gosh, I just don't know. Can you tell me?

What could you say? Well, for starters, something like "the author repeats plot device X in chapters A, B and C, and the only difference between them is Y."

You're right. I could say that. But then everything would just be a big repeat of what so many others have said behind their friends-locked posts, it would just seem like a waste of time. I merely wrote what I thought of it. If I were to review the fic "Draco Malfoy and the ( ... )

Does that mean you don't love me? I'm hurt! So much for starting my legions of fangirls to kiss my feet and wash my hair for me. I hope I can gather a few decent worshippers soon. I'm starting to smell.
