Reading up on the latest FAP threads, I saw that someone had just reread the Draco Trilogy and had remarked, "Someone has to tell somebody how bad that fanfiction is

Yes, I do think it's more of a trend to be anti-Cassie. It's like being anti-Danielle Steele.
Both churn out insipid writings that tell the same story over and over again. I can see the common thread.
What's the point of saying it?
I'm not anti-Cassie Claire. I'm anti-Trilogy. I'm also anti-shitty fics but that's a lost cause in most areas.
Sure, there are heaps of stupid fans who will defend anything (as well as intelligent fans), but being an intellectual snob without backing up your opinions is just as bad.
Giving a fuck about the Trilogy enough to say that people against it need to back up opinions on it is also just as bad.
The plot sucked. What sort of opinions can I state to back this up other than 'read it and tell me that it wasn't predictable'? Better yet, the Draco there isn't canon and is just a damn fluffball without a personality. You want back up? Look at all his lines. They seem to be based off a tv show. Need more back up? I find him bland and a stereotypical bad boy turned misunderstood horny teenager.
Now, if you were more specific about what was poorly done in the trilogy, I'd respect your review, but this just sounds like you hate famous people.
And I need your respect so very much. I think I'd die without it. Oh, please, please, give me some of your respect! Yes, I admit it! I hate famous people! Curse you, Johnny Depp! Damn you, Orlando Bloom!
Hmm. Is Cassie Claire actually famous in the real world? What movies has she been in? I hope they're better than her writings. What has she done for the world today? How is she famous besides writing a really bad fanfiction based on someone else's characters with someone else's dialogue?

Yes and? I don't care about it at all, but a well-supported opinion will influence more people. It will also annoy the bad author more, assuming that's what you're going for. Why stoop to the level of the fangirls you despise when it's perfectly possible to criticize them without looking bad yourself.
What could you say? Well, for starters, something like "the author repeats plot device X in chapters A, B and C, and the only difference between them is Y." Don't tell us that Draco is an unrealistic fantasy figure; tell us what specific qualities he lacks and what specific scenes he is unrealistic in. (Yes, yes, I realized that you want to answer "All of them!!!", but that's a cop out.)
And I need your respect so very much.
Well, naturally, you might not care about my respect, but you must care about someone's or you wouldn't have bothered posting this for all the world to see. If you want to upset people in a way that does lasting damage to their enjoyment of badly written stories, you'll need to offer a more compelling argument than "it's bad!"
Is Cassie Claire actually famous in the real world?
Well, there are always degrees of fame. She is famous enough in fandom to inspire jealousy. I'd call that fame. I, for example, have no fangirls who wish they could write like I do.
I don't care about it at all, but a well-supported opinion will influence more people.
Well, mercy me! I had no idea that everyone here was trying to influence others! Is that what I'm trying to do? Here I thought I was just reviewing a fanfiction!
It will also annoy the bad author more, assuming that's what you're going for.
I thought I was trying to influence people. Do slow down. You're making it difficult for me to keep up the pace.
Why stoop to the level of the fangirls you despise when it's perfectly possible to criticize them without looking bad yourself.
Gosh, I just don't know. Can you tell me?
What could you say? Well, for starters, something like "the author repeats plot device X in chapters A, B and C, and the only difference between them is Y."
You're right. I could say that. But then everything would just be a big repeat of what so many others have said behind their friends-locked posts, it would just seem like a waste of time. I merely wrote what I thought of it. If I were to review the fic "Draco Malfoy and the huge cocks with pearly white cum", I don't think I'd get so many people trying to sort out what I'm attempting to do here.
In retrospective, I do think that the Trilogy could be renamed just that.

A cop out that's the truth. How's this: Every scene that Draco Malfoy is in, he is heavily OOC. Anyone with half a brain can see this and shouldn't need me to point it out to them. If, as you say, it's a trend to hate the Trilogy, then I'm certain many people can say something about Diet Draco.
Well, naturally, you might not care about my respect, but you must care about someone's or you wouldn't have bothered posting this for all the world to see.
So in order to write a review, I need to be trying to get someone's respect? Hm. I guess I'll have to go for the first poster to this thread. I want to get her respect so so badly! If only she would look at me and see beyond this depraved shell!
If you want to upset people in a way that does lasting damage to their enjoyment of badly written stories, you'll need to offer a more compelling argument than "it's bad!"
I didn't say it was bad. I said it was shit. How about this? Draco would not make friends with a Weasley, a Mudblood, or Potter. Nor would he suddenly have a personality transfer with Ron Weasley. Eliminate all of those factors and you eliminate the entire Trilogy. Or how about this! Salazar Slytherin probably wasn't a bastard who spent his life getting sloshed at every moment and he wouldn't be falling for a Mudblood either. Oops! There goes the plot for the next Draco Stupidus!
Well, there are always degrees of fame. She is famous enough in fandom to inspire jealousy.
If only I could write like her. How I would love to type out romance novels and provide jerk-off material to a bunch of lonely, Draco-starved, prepubescent teenagers!
I'd call that fame. I, for example, have no fangirls who wish they could write like I do.
Does that mean you don't love me? I'm hurt! So much for starting my legions of fangirls to kiss my feet and wash my hair for me. I hope I can gather a few decent worshippers soon. I'm starting to smell.
