Went canvassing with MoveOn today in the south side, for the first time. It was fun though I'm not sure how much I accomplished in 1.5 hours. But I'll go again another time, before next Tuesday. It seems most people aren't in their houses on a Sunday afternoon.
Driving back, I tuned into WDUQ and a music-featured show on "This American Life". Remarkably, the final segment was about a jazz accordionist from Chicago named Sam Franco. He reaffirmed my suspicion that the reason why the accordion isn't more popular is because the young "rock & roll" generation is rebelling against the instrument their parents played. His take on the guitar: "Why would you want to use two hands to make one note?"
