my hot pink love
I spent last night helping paint my friend’s soon-to-open tattoo shop. Actually, I really enjoyed it. Besides the fun of painting while drinking beer & dancing to the Violent Femmes, there was also something so, ummm…….zen? about it. In holiday seasons past, I’ve always had something crafty and meticulous to concentrate on, whether it be coating anything I could find with chocolate or making rosemary wreaths. I’m always amazed by how much peace and focus I find doing something like that, especially during anxiety-filled pre-Christmas. So painting a bathroom hot pink took the place of that this year.
I could really benefit from having a hobby like that year-round.
