Israeli goodness

It's barely 1:30 and I've already accomplished things. Yay!

I might actually have a plan as far as my education though. Going to Hebrew University in Jerusalem next spring is looking better and better. Not only will I know a few people already going, it fits nicely with a Jewish Studies minor, aka, I can do over half of it there because there are only two courses I have to take here. And look at the courses! I can take Talmud! Admittedly, the fall semester looks a bit better, but it certainly isn't final because it's a year from now, and I wants it, I wants it! Not to mention that part of the requirement is Ulpan, a month-long Hebrew immersion that would either leave me dead, cracked, or fluent. I can read, to a degree, and I know random words, but actually speaking? Knowing the language? Not so much. And my dad's afraid I'll get blown up if I go. I understand the fear, but I can't be afraid to go somewhere I love because there's political unrest. I went to see the director of the Jewish Studies program this morning, who knows my rabbi and one of my Hebrew School teachers btw (awkward), and she said that last semester AU had the biggest contingent, 6 people. 10 this semester. I know at least three who are going sometime next year, probably more. I want to go.

Also, today kicked off AU Students for Israel's Israel Week. Yay! There was falafel and hummus and tahina and pita, and other goodies from Amsterdam falafel in Adams Morgan. *dies of yumminess* And the AEPi boys had a "pie the brother for charity" thing. It happened to be Jason R. (who I went to Israel with) and his little, Jason :P Endlessly entertaining. I missed Jason R, but other people got them good. Such as Mike almost breaking the little one's nose and Ilana getting the big in, errr, not a nice place. By the end, they were both sticky and gross and it was in their hair and ears and really all over the place. Like I said, endlessly entertaining.
