Good afternoon!
As I'd said this morning, I'm very new to FAM.
I bought Taking Charge of Your Fertility about a week and a half ago, and read about 80% of it (I skipped the 'getting pregnant' part in favour of making my fiance read it!).
I've been on Ortho since I was 17, with one break around 25 for about 6 months (Orthocept to start, now Ortho TriCyclene). I'll be 30 this summer. Because the pill is all I know, I'm hesitant to jump into FAM with both feet... and no 'practice' period. Right now, my fiance and I are depending solely on the pill, and we are planning to bring condoms into the picture as soon as FAM becomes our primary form of contraception.
Now. On to the question stuff. I am currently on the pill, but am starting the process of FAM. I want to take the next couple cycles, effectively to form the habit, before I depend on this (not because I don't trust the method, but because I'm not so sure about me!). I haven't seen anything in the memories, though, about how the pill interacts with FAM. Does anyone have any idea how the two would combine? I've been sick this week, but even before I was showing symptoms, I was getting waking temps of about 98.7 or so - which from the chart samples, and even the ones to photocopy, seem really high. I'm not sure if this is as a result of the pill, or the sick, and I think, primarily, I'm looking for a little guidance. I'm meeting a lot of negative reaction from friends (my fiance supports me on this, and is willing to go with it), primarily centering on 'rhythm method' and irresponsibility, and other similar 'complaints.' I'm sure most (if not all) of you know the feeling... I guess since I'm just so new, I'm more effected by their opinions than I should be.
Anyhow. Now that you all have my 'life story' of sorts, any words of advice on the pill and FAM, high temps, and/or how to handle the nay-sayers?
Thanks so much, and I really appreciate your reading this far.
