It is completely and utterly unfair that there is a class on documentation Saturday morning at Arts & Sciences... but since I'm entering a competition that day, I need to have my documentation written BEFORE I get there. Foo, I say!!

I decided that I didn't want to drive all the way to Gold Beach in one day, plus set up a pavilion and all that, so I just grabbed us a room at the Curly Redwood Lodge in Crescent City. So, Duchess Sophie was cleaning out her fabric, and I scored this GORGEOUS brocade. There's not very much of it -- the main piece is approximately 58"x58", and the details are around 8.5"x8.5" and 8.5"x5". One idea that was batted around was to use it as a persian cloud collar, but I don't think that will work because of the size of the repeating ( Read more... )

I suppose I should probably post this for those that missed it. It's a Treblemaker creation, as the three of us (well, we couldn't very well ask Her Highness to write it with us, could we?!) all worked on it the Monday before Coronet. There's a couple of bits we may tweak later, but we're subscribing to the "Done is Beautiful" motto.

Considering Her Highness had pretty much lost her voice, and I still couldn't hear out of one ear, it was touch & go if we would even end up performing, but we managed to pull ourselves together and kick some inter-kingdom butt. :-> The winners ( Read more... )

So SWA is having this incredible sale, and it ends Feb 10, the Wednesday before Estrella weekend. Just for kicks and grins, I checked the prices anyway, and it's only $102 each way ($75 if you go early enough to grab the end of the sale). Which is TOTALLY doable. Except... it's Estrella.
