it is now estimated that up to 100,000 people may have died as a result of the cylone in myanmar. while the government is beginning to allow UN aid to enter the country, they still have not allowed any aid from the united states.

in asshole teacher news, an idaho teacher threw away a student's mexican flag that was brought in for cinco de mayo.

addtionally, in the eo green shooting case, the defense attorney is blaming the school. the attorney claims that,

"Educators should have moved aggressively to quell rising tensions between the two boys, which began when King openly flirted with McInerney, said Deputy Public Defender William Quest. Instead, administrators were so intent on nurturing King as he explored his sexuality, allowing him to come to school wearing feminine makeup and accessories, that they downplayed the turmoil that his behavior was causing on campus,"

i say bullshit. while the school does hold some of the blame, it was the shooter's decision to act out the way he did.
