UM. Yeah. I went there. I have been binge watching Touching Evil for the past couple days, and I think the marvelousness that is David Creegan and Susan Branca has officially broken my brain.

ERGO: fanmix time.

Yes. I really am that predictable.

(need you) like a hole in my head - a touching evil fanmix )

OH YOU!

OH THIS SHOW! OH THESE TWO!

I'm so glad you made this mix, am downloading, and can't wait to see some fic from you. And I can't wait till I get to the rest of the episodes so we can flail some more over these two and how unfair it is that this was cancelled.

I'm also downloading Burn Notice? Just to try?

Speaking of love - SLOW SHOW! Amazing song, perfect for this mix. GAH.

Yes, brainstorming must commence!

I swear I found an icon comm the other day but the icons...left much to be desired. Lemme try and find it for you, though.

That is one of my favorite tracks by The National! And yes! It fits them so, so well!!!!!

FOR SURE. There will be coffee. And then there will be writing!

I think I know what you're talking about...they were all from like 4 years ago? Hahaha. I might have to make my own! Or not, haha.

EDIT: That is a different comm! I'll have to poke around, heh. MERCI BEAUCOUP!

Hopefully I can marathon tonight and tomorrow morning and I'll be able to brainstorm like hell with you, haha - I want to be all fully caught up on this show.

Next time one of my fav icon makers has a request post up, I'm totally asking for Touching Evil icons, haha.

Edit: Um, so, apparently the most recent episode (of burn notice) had Tricia Helfer on. So, Six + Creegan. I'm excited at this prospect?

I FINISHED THE SERIES. SIGH. I already want to do a rewatch? Heh.

And now! Fic time! I swear I have like 5000 word doc windows open right, heh.

I FOUND ONE ICON. One lowly icon I liked! But I agree - next time I spot requests, I am running for the Touching Evil caps, haha.

Re:edit: WHAT? I sort of love that. A lot.

I FINISHED TOO AND OH MY GOD! THEIR LAST SCENE TOGETHER! With the pretending to be strangers meeting, and the closeness, and the collar-tucking! I was like, "KISS, YOU FOOLS!" the entire time. And, yeah, her tripping as she walked away totally made my day, haha.

OKAY SO FIC IDEAS?

(Am stealing that icon too because obviously that scene turned me to mush.)

THE LAST SCENE!!!!! Yes. All of that was PERFECTION. And I really, really thought she was going to kiss him. But I sort of like that she fixed his collar instead? It was so, so well done ( ... )

These two! Even if you take out all of the amazing dialogue moments between them, there's enough there in just LOOKS. I mean, these two are the perfect example of partner-chemistry and put other UST will-they-won't-they couples to shaaaame. And episode 10! I just keep thinking of the end in the ambulance, I don't know why. I know they're partners and all but i love that they check in on each other? Or after the reporter guy was killed in 5, he gave her his coat? I love that ( ... )

YES. Like, I don't get how it's impossible to have just two people looking at each other be so incredibly hot. BUT IT IS. And I agree so, so much - it makes all those other cop partner shows look RIDIC in comparison. This is how it's done, friends! And YES. It's those little moments of vulnerability between the two of them, and I think that really came out in the ambulance. And YES, I love that scene in episode 5 when they're by the fountain and he wraps his arm around her ( ... )

Yes! He was like, "I still get it" and my heart melted because he does, and not just for the sake of shippyness but the fact that here's a guy she doesn't have to pretend with, he doesn't expect her to play a role. Whenever his focus is on her, he seems so incredibly fascinated by who she truly is, underneath all the cop professionalism BS or something. Love.

Oooh, I like the idea of it being somewhere flat and almost desolate. It can be kind of like in the pilot where they had to travel to Colorado to the creepy scientists first home or something. You can tie the serial killer's history someplace else and, of course, there will be another place scene between these two? I love the dynamic of when Branca's in a vulnerable state like that and Creegan's perfectly calm and collected. And add to that maybe some unease Branca has over the case they're on, and you've got yourself a delish scene!

Yes! And I love that he said if they were strangers he would have liked her - that's such great insight right there. LE SIGH.

Exactly! I love the idea of a motel off the highway and a bunch of truckers passing through and not much there but farms and old houses - definitely where the killer is from, haha. And of course! Another airplane scene for sure! I love that too - she clearly hates flying and he knows it and he's so composed about it all. When she grabbed his knee on the way to Boston and when he looked at her hand?!?! Gah!

Trying to write a serial killer plot is strangely difficult. I'm heavily considering ending it with them not catching the guy - sort of like the Zodiac killer, where they have their hunches but no evidence. No happily ever after there, you know?

I loved them pretending to be strangers. Him whistling and her being like, "Hey, gorgeous" because YEAH.

Gah. The little moments between them. What do you think will be the catalyst for sexy sexy time? I'd think it'd have to be a touch, a look or something he says - something that finally gets to her? Because I'm thinking she's going to have to be the one to initiate it. Whenever I try to think of Creegan being the one to purposely initiate anything between them, I see Branca pulling away. Or am I just crazy?

I like that idea! It plays into the fact that they don't always catch the bad guy. And if Branca's going to be attached to the case in whatever way, the bad guy not getting caught can lead to a scene between her and Corrigan, where they have their little dance, she's trying to act like it doesn't bother her as much as it does and he, plain and simple, sees right through her. Yay for emotional vulnerability?

Hahaha YES. Or when they slap each others' asses in Oregon or whatever? That was both unexpected and hilarious.

Yes! The little moments! And I can't decide what the catalyst would be - I'm almost thinking an argument? They're both damaged and messy people, and I feel like a frustrating case, with no real leads, in the middle of Nebraska or whatever is going to lead to tensions running high. And a part of me wants her to be the one to initiate it, orrrrrr he does. Because, the dude has a temper, the guy has some violence to him and I can see him getting so angry he just grabs her, if only out of frustration. And she would protest - of course because it's Susan - and maybe that's how their first kiss goes? Sort of ugly and all teeth and bitterness. But the first time they sleep together, I think she'll be the one to initiate it. I CAN'T DECIDE.

Exactly! I feel like more often than not, they nabbed the killer. This time? No such luck. And yay indeed for emotional vulnerability!

Hahaaaa. I'm so attached to this idea now. BOTH of them are going to be pissed off and on edge and he grabs her and she pushes and all of a sudden they're kissing and GAH. I could so see that happening on the show. I mean, both losing their cool within an argument like that could potentially be pretty explosive, so them kissing in the heat of the moment would work well with that. (And yeah, with all her issues - her fiancé and the first guy, I'm assuming, she slept with in a while turning out to be off his rocker and threatening to kill her - I think it would have to be her to initiate it? I mean, of course Creegan's going to do or say something that'll get her thinking, maybe, but it's going to be her that makes the booty call, haha.)

YES! I just really like the rough imagery of their first kiss. And it would definitely be quick and sort of dirty, and the next morning she is humiliated that she kissed him. But good old Creegan - no shame. I can just picture him saying something like, I'm glad you chew cinnamon gum; I like that flavor better than peppermint.

But I agree - that woman has so many issues when it comes to men, and the men she sleeps with, she's the one that's going to have to take that step forward. I can't decide how I want that to work. I am thinking booze and a particular amount of self doubt and his motel room/home, haha. And loneliness, of course.

ALSO: I have decided this song is the killer's calling card, haha.
