"Do you know what would have happened had this game been played in the glory years of hockey? The Red Wings would be dummied for all of their goalie bumping tactics, and Hasek would have been run at least once. Calgary would have sent a message that they would not tolerate the bumping of their star goaltender by beating the piss out of Maltby and Holmstrom... They tried to send a message but in today's gutless NHL the Red Wings are protected by the officials who will call penalty after penalty... Draper was challenged by MARCUS goddamned NIILSON and wouldn't fight... Thats when you know you have a team full of gutless wonders, turning down MARCUS NILSON. The Red Wings have the yappiest bunch of pseudo-tough players in the NHL. Cleary, Chelios, Holmstrom, Draper, Markov, Bertuzzi, they are all of the same ilk. Gutless pukes who hide behind the instigator while playing cheap hockey... I sincerely hope they meet up with the Ducks and the Cucks all beat the piss out of this bunch... and I have no interest in the Flames at all, simply an observer on this series. I could care less about the fortunes of the Flames, but at least their guys will back up their actions with their fists as their track records indicate... Detroit's players boast records of fake glove dropping, hiding behind referees, turtling, and attacking players from behind. How can you be a fan of that type of hockey? They are the antithesis of what every fight fan should want in a hockey team."
Well freaking said. I can't stand the Red Wings and their European hockey which is leaving a stain on the NHL. Unfortunately, it's this kind of hockey that Gary Bettman and his cronies wish to push on the North American populace.
Well, Gary, the game isn't getting more popular. In fact you're losing die-hards by the day with this crap that you pass off as hockey. It's time to push back these changes. Time to lose the instigator penalty. Time to drop the stupid last five minutes rule. Time to end the shootout joke. Time to stop giving away goals on five on three's.
Ugh, sorry to turn this into a rant, I just hate seeing the sport of hockey turned into this joke.
