The Vacation prompt for Pan. It was bothering me while I was working last weekend, and I decided I'd write it out. I'm not sure how I feel about it other than I thought it would be longer. Irony.

The Vacation (Part 2)
Sam barely gets Castiel on the water coaster ride; its theme is something about pirates. He’s pretty sure he doesn’t even care, as long as he gets to ride with Castiel. The only reason Dean’s not getting on with them is because he ate two hotdogs and is working on his third while standing next to the ticketbooth. The taller brother is pretty sure Dean’s also eyeing everyone in his radius to see if they’re appealing.
“Sam, this is rather unproductive. Should we not finish this fun?” Castiel edges to the left side of the boat so Sam can fit in beside him.
The tall man smiles at Castiel, “Come on, Cas, it’s just another day. Not going to change too much if we have two days of free time.” He is actually really, really, surprised that Dean crumbled after the beach and they went to this water theme park. Sam’s betting it’s because he got laid twice last night. Bad Sam, don’t think about girls and Dean, eghhh.
The angel frowns, but before he can continue arguing, the boat shakes and the handle bars lock down onto their legs. He tries, and fails to jump, bumping his thighs against the metal.
Sam’s not sure what words leave the angel’s mouth next, but he’s pretty sure they are not happy in the least. He barely stops himself from rubbing both legs and tilts his head down, muttering a quick, “Sorry, should have told you about that.”
Castiel looks at Sam in confusion, but the ride shudders once more and starts, distracting the blue-eyed man.
The ride starts off slow, spinning through a cave of skeletons. All of them have hooks for arms and long coats that probably would be scary if Sam hadn’t seen worse.
Sam has to give credit to whoever made the cave though; it looks rather real, which is saying something because Sam’s been in a lot of caves over the years. He’s not actually paying attention though, instead leaning against Castiel as much as he can without looking like it; harder than it is, really. He can even slightly smell the other man; it’s a weird mix of fresh air, slight sweat, and blueberries.
Castiel doesn’t seem to mind, enraptured by the pirates and muttering under his breath. Once light comes in the cave, and the water becoming more turbulent, he seems to realize Sam leaning against him. He says nothing, but does tilt his head back (so he can see Sam’s face), as if trying to understand the hazel-eyed man.
The hunter doesn’t have to explain himself though; the water covers up sounds rather well; except the fake cackling of the pirates in front of the cave. They’re rising now up past the cave’s exit, boat quaking in the water. Sam grins, he always did like water rides ever since his college friends took him to one.
The boat stops at the top and sways before rushing forward. Sam thinks it’s probably more than awesome.
Castiel grabs for Sam as soon as the boat rushes down, screaming right into the hunter’s ears. Water splashes across both of them, from almost all sides. The angel's grip only grows tighter.
The hunter tries not to laugh, and hug back. Even though he’s sure the ringing in his ear will last for hours; it’s the best ride ever. Castiel being wet is just a bonus.
