Well, I'm finally all moved and interneted-up. I'm looking for gainful employment in the Boston area and generally wasting time. The city itself is a lot of fun, like a small, less intense NYC.

I saw "Revenge of the Sith", and enjoyed it quite a bit. Despite its flaws, it was a consistantly entertaining and exciting dumb summer movie. Allthough I can't fucking believe that Lucas managed to blow the reveal of Darth Vader. Christ, almost 30 years this character has been built up as the greatest movie vilian of our times. The entire prequel trilogy was built up around this moment. Almost a billion dollars in production costs alone all for this. And how does lucas choose to do it? With his nearly unlimited funds and connections with master filmmakers? He has vader stumble off of the table like a cheap frankenstein, pump his bicepts like he was in a pose off, and give a weak, stilted 'nooooooo'.

So fucking weak.

Oh, and the anti-bush stuff is in there, but you could also take many other 'messages' from it. For instance, the jedi knew that palpatine was bad, and that he had the capability to act on his desires. But they sat on their hands, waiting for some irrefutable proof before acting. They instead defer their power to a multi-national body of diplomats which immediately surrenders its authority to said emperor. By the time the jedi finally decide to act, palpitine has become too powerful. You could make the case that the entire evil empire is allowed to happen because the Jedi decided to wait until palpitine was an 'imminent' threat.

But trying to divine political messages from star wars is idiotic.
