WHITE LION
PART 2
For the next few days, it seemed like i could do nothing but think about the lion dream. I went to school, came home, did homework, but i still couldn't shake the thoughts about it from my mind. It seemed like every time i closed my eyes, i could see it there, as perfect and vivid as it was in the dream. I had no idea why i was obsessing about it like that, but it seemed that all i could think about was hunting the lion down and capturing it. It may seem weird to hear me say it now, but I really wanted to be able to know the lion, and have it trust me. Well after about a week of that nonsense i began to forget about the lion. At the time i was staying with mom and her new husband Peter. There was no escaping my two eight-year old step-sisters while i was there, so i just kind of stayed in the background. All mom cared about was the step-sisters anyhow, so i was pretty much on my own for the majority of that year. Not that i minded. Its just, I couldn't help but remember all the good times that Mom, Dad, Chad and I had had back when my parents were still together. Back then, we could have passed for the perfect family. How times change. Now, Chad was off at college, Mom was remarried and Dad was living by himself in Florida. And where had I gone to since then? Not even i knew that.
One day that year Mom and Peter went out and left me alone with the step-sisters to watch after them. I did the best i could to keep them in line untill they finally crashed into bed around ten. I fooled around and watched TV by myself until around midnight, then went to bed. I wanted to be asleep when Mom and Peter got home. I slid into bed, but I didnt fall asleep. I just layed there, thinking about all the different ways my life had changed recently. I rolled around for several hours before i finally fell asleep. And then, I was back on the plain. The lion was there again. It looked even more strong and beautiful than it did in the first dream. I instantly took off after it. It was fast, but i started to feel like i was gaining some ground on it. I chased it for several hours, untill i was wheezing heavily, and my tounge felt like sandpaper in my mouth. then, i gave one last burst of energy. I reached out my hand, and clipped the edge of its tail. I then tripped, and my feet went out from under me. just as i was about to hit the ground, i woke up. I sighed, and leaned back into bed.
