Po-WAAAHH!!

"Two minutes left and P4. Back off and get some clear space and give us one MEGA lap."

"Will Power launches at a last lap, Scott Dixon is fastest, Ryan Briscoe is on a flyer too, first split Power is 0.2 of a second in the green. This is going to be a big lap for the man who has stood on pole position the last two years."

"Second split and Power is over half a second faster this is huge. Last year Will dominated qualifying, he was fastest then pounded the field into submission. This year completely new car, completely new team. Final corner the track is almost dry now, that final corner was the slipperiest Power's noticeably faster, to the line... Pole! Eight tenths faster than Dixon, he's smashed them. Where's Dixon, second split is over a second down, he's backed out, Briscoe too, we'll wait for the last car, but third year in a row, the Toowoomba Tornado takes pole position at his home event. Kevin Kalkoven and Craig Gore punch the air."

BOOO-yaaaahhh. Go Will :D

A good day for the locals all over, with Brisbane-born New Zealander Scott Dixon joining Power on the front row, with Ryan Briscoe third.

A miserable day for the IRL veterans, fourth fastest was Dario Franchitti, who hasn't driven a Dallara Indycar in over twelve months. Ryan Hunter-Reay was fifth fastest ahead of Helio Castroneves, who is probably very happy to be racing so he can put his other troubles behind him for the moment.

Most miserable is Danica Patrick. Rain and cold tyres caught her out in the qualifying sessions early stages and she wiped her nose on the concrete.
