With flood waters abating we were finally able to have family Christmas, albeit at Towoomba as the direct road Warwick-Brisbane was still cut. The occasion was held on December 30. Had a big feed at the Toowoomba City Golf Club and unwrapped presents afterwards in the Golf Club lounge room. And newsy891's presents arrived in the mail on December 27 so we were able to do all presents in one hit.

The reason Australia Post couldn't track it derived from the method of express post newsy891 chose. The express method, once it arrived in Australia, went to a courier company instead of Australia Post. I guess the courier company took more time off over Chrismtas-New Years than Australia Post did, hence the slower delivery.

Unfortunately it arrived a day too late to prevent the valiant dragontail from his favour of replacing two of the gifts. It's all fixed though I've an idea for a new home for the surplus Dirge/Blurr transformer figures. Hopefully they'll arrive today/tomorrow.

I was very happy to get a phonecall from dragontail's wonderfully imaginitive daughter today to announce the last of newsy891's presents had arrived at it's destination (actually a day earlier than I had anticipated since it was only mailed just before closing on Friday December 31) and has already been incorporated into her arc of complex hero-story telling, more of which on his blog.

newsy891's presnts have been enthusiastically received across the board, although Dad hasn't figured out the book just yet, but Mum, brother, sister-in-law and niece all beamed with the gifts.

So I know have a large pile of books to read, DVDs to watch, action figures to admire and socks to feel comfy in.
