Orphan Black 3x1
Really happy that Orphan Black is back, only...I've mixed feelings on 3x1.
Did the ep feel really rushed to anyone else? The introduction to the Castor clones especially felt like... "Right, so there's boy clones now. They're suddenly everywhere. They're dangerous mofos. BUT MOVING SWIFTLY ON!" I was also disappointed how quickly they rushed out Mrs S's betrayal of Helena. Bit of a waste.
Also there was a lot of sadistic violence from characters who we don't usually see it from. Delphine inflicting eye torture on Rachel was pretty horrifying. I felt like maybe they were attempting to build sympathy for poor mutilated possibly brain-damaged Rachel but I was too busy feeling horrified by 'suddenly a sociopath!' Delphine. What happened to her character being the puppy of the show? Sarah's almost S&M murder was shocking too. Will dressing up in Rachel's cold bitch clothes turn anyone into an evil dominatrix?
Aw, I did like the mad little imaginay scorpion scenes with Helena. And the happy Clone Club garden party that exists only in her poor demented mind. *sigh* Helena is going to devastate me this season, I'm sure. Other things I like...well, clone's impersonating other clones is always fun, especially the return of Alison as Sarah.
Felix! I missed Felix. That said, I'm a little sick of spoilers saying "Felix will have his own individual storyline this season!" only for him to remain the perpetual Clone Club agony uncle. I'll just have to see if the next nine episodes can overturn my doubts. Also YAY for Donnie and Scott getting more involved in club shenanigans. Part of me really likes that the girls are the warriors of this show while the (good guy) boy characters are mostly just there to provide moral support. Though I do want Felix to do more.
