So I'll have you know, Falafel, that while I haven't acted on it yet, I've made the decision to check out Breaking Bad, based on your reply to my comment a while back about it. :)

I'd been on the fence about Moonrise Kingdom and thus never got around to checking it out, but now I'll give it a second look, because it featured a lot of actors I love in funny looking outfits that made me curious.

You know, I have never read American Gods either, and I keep getting really close to reading it over and over. Good to know it's a brain-eater.

Speaking of Neil Gaiman (and Amanda Palmer), random factoid: I went to a Weird Al Show in my hometown, and who was there a few rows ahead but Mr. Gaiman and Ms. Palmer themselves. Pretty cool and just about the last place I expected to see those two people.

For graphic sharing, yeah it's fine. But as a place for fandom? Hate it. I can't make friends on Tumblr. I can't have discussions on Tumblr. I can't create anything of substance that anyone will care to respond to on Tumblr. So yeah...I miss livejournal based fandom because it feels like there aren't many of us left here

I totally get that. I can't even follow conversation threads on Tumblr. I don't know who's saying what half the time. I feel like a cranky old man yelling at kids to get off my lawn, and when I want to look at pictures of Tom Hiddleston, I enjoy Tumblr just fine. But as an environment for interacting with people, really not so much.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has a show??? Where?

Happy New Year, Falafel!

This is incredibly fantastic news! You must share your thoughts with me once you get started. I'm like a vampire when it comes to feeding off new viewers reacting to the show for the first time. You won't regret it. I mean, this show may ruin all other TV for you but you still won't regret it.

Agh! Great Neil and Amanda sighting. I've seen them both separately at shows at the Edinburgh festival but I'd love to see them together. American Gods is quite a reading experience. In some ways it's a tough read because it has a very meandering narrative structure but I just got absorbed by the world and the writing style.

I loved Moonrise Kingdom but then I love all Wes Anderson movies and MK is probably the most 'WesAndersony' of all Wes Anderson movies, so I just had to love it.

when I want to look at pictures of Tom Hiddleston, I enjoy Tumblr just fine.

Agreed if you just want an instant fix of a favourite actor, character or fandom, I enjoy it too. But even then it can be a pain because a lot of people repost the same damn pictures over and over again and I get very bored of scrolling for something new or worthwhile. But also, all my online friends are Tom Hiddleston fangirls, where has this craze come from? But it seems a lot of Loki fans are also BrBa fans so...

Happy New Year to you too, mil. x
