332 - Are you more childlike or childish?

May 11, 2010 12:36

Wait, is this a trick question? No, really, what's the diff?

I'm not an adult, I know that much. I try to be, but trying doesn't mean that I am. Save the world, save my friends, train the Slayers, blah blah blah. Those are adultish things. You know, I'm going to actually look this up to see what I'm supposed to say to this.

Okay, so the dictionary says that "childlike" is innocence. Um, yeah, not so much with the innocence right there. That was sort of lost thanks to Angel (not that I'm complaining; just that there was much in the way of badness immediately afterward which didn't help plus a mall almost got blown up....) Let's see, what else... oh, frankness. Okay, I'm actually pretty frank to people which gets me in trouble, I suppose. I think if you hang around Xander long enough, though, that will tend to happen to you. Um... childlike trust. Okay, yes, I have major trust issues especially with men so I'm not sure how to go about saying yes or no to this one. On the one hand, I trust. On the other hand, I can be extra-wary depending on the sitch, so...

Why am I talking like I'm back in high school? No, really, "sitch"? Next thing you know, I'll be saying stuff like "major wiggins".

Anyway, okay, moving onto the definition of "childish". Weak, silly, puerile... puerile? Okay, no. I think the whole "being the Slayer" bit takes me out of the running to be "childish".

Which, I guess, leaves me with "childlike", although frankly (ooo, see, I'm being frank like the definition said) I'm really not either of those two things. I think I'm just Buffy. I don't see me fitting into any category at all, really.

Maybe I'm just Buffy-like. Or Buffy-ish. Or Buffy-like-ish? Whatever.
