Time flies

It's been over 8 1/2 years since my last entry and things have changed to say the least. For starters, I'm writing this from my iPad mini in my Brooklyn apartment instead of from my 10 lb laptop in my mother's house in Henderson. There is so much to recap and I promise to attempt to cover the most important events from the past almost decade of my life in a future entry. For now I will give some bullet points.

~ I worked in a few of the best salons in Las Vegas/Henderson before owning a studio salon with Chelsey and then my own private studio.

~ I found myself in a 4-year relationship/2-year engagement and built a beautiful life with my pup until Lana inspired me to leave everything behind when I realized I had felt dead for years.

~ I moved in with Chelsey for a month and got my own apartment and lived alone for the first time in my life. Lots of partying, sex, emotional breakdowns, gambling addiction, cocaine, more sex. In a nutshell: the best year of my life up until that point.

~ I fell back in love long distance with my ex from Vegas, Marcus, who had been living in NYC for a few years. He proposed and I said yes, and ended up having a very easy move to Brooklyn and started working at Mudhoney Salon NYC, hands-down the best salon in NY.

~ Turns out Marcus is a lying, cheating, awful excuse for a human being. So Gavin and I moved into my friend Ilinca's apartment with her husband, Matt, who have been my saving grace through this experience.

~ Now I'm also working part time at Local Cafe 2 doors down from Mudhoney to supplement my income while I build a clientele. And I'm dating the most promising candidate for boyfriend status (really the only one with ANY promise in 6 months of being single) and loving life in this incredible city. But dying for a weekend away from it all!

~ Most notably, I work with CARLA!! Carla Squared is back in action and the way things are going we're probably just going to get married (for real this time) and live happily ever after.

Now that I've covered the bases, I have to recall this nightmare from last night.

It felt like a combination of Rockford and Las Vegas, elements of both were present in obvious ways but also in the energy. In the beginning I new it was Vegas. I was on some bus that was dropping people off at a few locations. One was PTs, the others were much more exciting but I was most excited to go back to visit my old home-away-from-home-away-from-home. So I got off at the PTs stop and went in to see familiar faces.

It turns out this location had been expanded. The back wall had been torn down and it now had this whole indoor/outdoor feel with a huge pool and cabanas. I explored a little and ended up going upstairs (which doesn't exist in reality) and came to find out the restaurant staff was my old coworkers from Backyard in Rockford. Who were all drunk... As if it was a company party or something.

Then shit got weird. I was in a room chatting with some old friends and drinking and I went to go downstairs for some reason and passed a very creepy homeless looking man on the way who said he was going to go in some other room and take some shit. Ummm... What?

Later more of these creeps show up and I see these rashes covering their bodies. They had some strange disease that I realized was highly contagious by touch and incurable. You contract it, go insane, then die. I saw a group of them a one point rubbing each other's inflamed pink rashes and saying "oh my god it's so soft, it's so soft, it's amazing", almost orgasmically as if they were on Molly.

Back to them taking peoples shit. They were genius. Since this was so contagious and deadly, they would threaten to touch you if you didn't let them take whatever they wanted. If you stood in their way you would catch it, even if you killed them in the process of fighting them off you would ended up infected and soon dead anyway. They had nothing to lose.

Anyway, I woke up when they were coming for me. I couldn't go back to sleep because when my eyes closed they were right in front of me. I texted Fred about it and he didn't respond, he was out with friends in SF for his birthday. But telling someone always makes me feel better and I finally dozed again.

Okay that was a long one but I have a lot of catching up to do! Will have more to say soon.

Love you til then,
+Hayden
