I picked up the Mr. Show Season 4 DVD set on friday and spent much of the weekend using it to numb the pain of the Cubs flushing their season down the toilet. The whole experience reminded me of 1998 when I was in college living with a bunch of guys (they're the ones that turned me into a baseball fan.) We watched every episode of Mr. Show season 4 on HBO and that spring we watched the McGuire/Sosa home run race and the subsequent Cubs playoff run.
We had a satellite dish, courtesy of one of my roommates, whose family is stinking rich so we watched a goddam lot of TV that year. I didn't have too much of a choice, really because my bedroom was right next to the TV room in that apartment so unless someone was watching the TV on mute...it would wake me up. I'm the type of person who can't sleep even if there's a tiny bit of background TV noise. I eventually bought a fan just so there would be some white noise in the room to drown out the TV on mornings when my roommate would get up at 6am to watch live broadcasts of soccer from england.
I'm all sore and achy. I was outside all day playing football on Sunday with my older cousins and their kids. It was so nice out...I love this weather!
