Ok Lazy fingers, type these babies out before they are lost in forgotten great weekend past... or something...
My last 2 weekends have been sooo much fun and I think I will get some nice warm feelings out of this when I'm an old lady still checkin' my LJ and reading posts from years ago...
To set the backdrop really quickly, last month of work has been insane. Too much working for me personally. I believe in having a life and enjoying being without being exhausted to a pulp. But I've been toughing it out, because I knew/know I can do it, and want to prove it to myself again, and to the people that pay me...
Anyway, so not this weekend but the one before I had just finished our Peak of being insanely busy... I didn't know sunshine. Friday actually ended well though. I put a project to bed in record time and it made me and my co-worker float out of work that Friday evening on reaaaaaalllll happy clouds.
I met up with Dave and we went and got some rrrraaad Sushi. Mmm Mmm mmm. It was one of those evenings where the sun wasn't bright, but it was sooo warm and the clouds were swirls and ice cream. I was in heaaaven. Then Dave and I took the Hastings bus allll the way down and we FINALLY went swimming!!! It was everything I hoped it would be! Gushing in whirl pools, frog swimming down the deep end, jumping in like crazy people just because it felt good, and oooof course, the water slide 100 million times!
After the pool we went and saw Batman! Nothing better then coming out of a pool with wet hair and walking to see a great movie on a hot lazy friday night!
Saturday woke up at my own pace, to suuuunshine! Met up with sarah and went and relaxed on the beach. Beach was surprisingly quiet and oh so peacefull. Walked back to town a few hours later and shared (even more sushi) with Sarah before I ran to the bus stop! Took a long sunny busright along the coast to the ferrie terminal and went the the Island saturday evening!
Parents picked me up around 7 and we went to parksville. parksville is a gorgious town on the beach. Went to a new restaurant and had drinks on the patio that was pretty much built onto the beach. watched the sun go down and watched tons of people still swimming in the ocean - it was a warm night. This was that night where the sky went all sorts of magnificent yellows and purples, and then briight and dark reds. THEN, right before we are about to leave we learn that there are fireworks here tonight! So we walk down to the beach, I take a small dip in the water, and then I watch fireworks with my parents. I couldn't have asked for more.
Sunday Wake up in a big comfy bed and go for breakfast with my mum. After that we pack the beach bags and go to Rathtrevor. Rathtrevor is like a paradise beach after going to Vancouvers downtown beaches for so many weeks. - Well it always was paradise, but i think i appreciated it more than ever this time. So spent sunday at the beach with my parents. Rathtrevor is a beach where the tide goes out for almost more then your eyes can see! It takes about 20 minutes to make it to where the water touches the sand. And once at the water, it seams you walk forever and the water doesnt get deeper then your knees, and it's so warm! I got up to just past my knees and fell backwards and pretended I was a mermaid for quite some time. Mmmmm mmm, swimming in the Ocean IS Love. =)
After the beach we went home, made some dinner, and then sent me on my way back to vancouver. *sigh* so nice =) =) =)
Gosh, and then I had a great work week, and another great weekend after that... which I hope to write about soon, because there are some just as amazing memories there too.
Sooo, I'm feeling sulky with the rain right now, and how darkness is creeping in so fast everday. But now when I'm looking back on the recent past, I'm having a great time! I hate to sounds cheesy, but I'm going to win against dark this fall. I get closer and closer every year. Just need to keep embracing it's beauty, and letting it be what it is, let me be what I am. Ok. Bye now =)
Oh one last thing, you are in my thoughts uncle Randy. I love you. May all of our family's strength be with you.
