I love the snippets of backstory - Japan in 1908? And the fact that Jack owes Logan money. Typical.
"Healthy living.... I can't die, Logan."
Misdirection (particularly funny since I'm not sure Jack was ever interested in clean living!), followed by the shock of truth. Very Jack.

I changed it to 1928, with the thought that the 'flyboy' nickname would be anachronistic (or at least premature) in 1928. Wolverine has a long history with Japan - he sees himself as something of a samurai, and his first (only?) wife was Japanese. I love his internationalsim - born in England, lived in Japan, now lives in the US, and his nationality is Canadian.

I was working on two assumptions. One, that Jack knew Wolverine well enough to trust him, and to know what he's really like. And two, that in recognizing Logan as being as long-lived as Jack is, he saw him as a potential ally.

At the conclusion of House of M, Wolverine's memories are completely restored. This causes a panic for some of the major powers and governments across the Marvel universe because of their involvement in Wolverine's life and the knowledge he has recovered. The United States and Canada purge all records of Wolverine's involvement in anticipation of his revenge ( ... )
